Can anyone tell me anything about the escort passport 7500s? They have it on clearance at best buy for 150, and I was wondering if that was a good deal or not. any help would be appreciated.

Don't buy the 7500 it came out before the first 8500 and it has very weak range. Your better off buying the first 8500 Vs the 7500 but if I where you I would go with something eles.

Slight correction to this. The 7500 came out before the 8500. However the 7500S came out after the 8500. I do not know about the performance of either, but they are 2 different detectors.

Yep they are very different. They took a 7500, a green Sharpie and wrote "S" on it!

This is Escort's bottom end unit. If you cannot afford an X50, I'd go for a Bel unit, "THEY HAVE MORE SEN!!" otherwise go at least for a used 8500.

$150 is a rip for that thing...you can get a new one on Ebay for about $100, used for even less...

I've never bothered to use one, but I can tell you it's LIGHT...it feels like there's nothing in it!!

Yes I know all about the 7500s and its not much better then the 7500. I would not buy the 7500 or the 7500s in my opinion they are both junk.

I first bought the 7500s before I found this forum and started to think about the dif in range. I figured its better to pay the extra money now then pay it for a ticket later.

I have (or had) the 7500, 7500S and the X50. Big performance differences between them. I question whether the 7500S is worth $150. Maybe $100.

I would not spend much more then a $100 for it and I would even try to get them to go below $100 because the 7500 and 7500s are not in my opinion highend detectors.

I believe RMR and the 7500s have about the same range on KA band.....not very good. I would not consider anything but an 8500 or x50 in the Escort line and the x50 is probably worth the difference over the original 8500.

Not probably it is as remember I have used both so I can tell you from my own opinion that the X50 is the better of the two but they are both very good detectors in the end.

MAYBE THEY HAD THE WRONG PRICE TAG BUT I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ALL I WANNTED WAS TO BUY THE RD AND GET OUT BEFORE THEY FIND OUT THE REAL PRICE TAG :lol: OR WHO KNOWS MAYBE THEY WHERE AT THAT PRICE :D ANYWAY I GOT THE BEST DEAL I THINK UNDER 100 BUCKS

Basically it sucked ass compared to the V1 of the time. But for $89.99, damn! I would buy it just so I could pop apart the casing and put my X50 inside so it would be black and not silver! :lol: 8)

Well I don't sell the 7500, it performed very low in the range tests that we last did over a year ago.
