From Roy's Website:

X Band:
8500X50= 4.5 Miles
SR7= 4.2 Miles
Difference of 7.15%

Bel 995=4.1 Miles

K Band:
8500X50= 4.3 Miles
SR7= 4.0Miles
Difference of 7.5%

Bel 995=3.9 Miles

Ka Band:
8500X50= 4.3 Miles
SR7= 4.0Miles
Difference of 7.5%

Bel 995=4.0 Miles

Now, The Escort SR7 is the remote mounted unit from Escort. It I think uses the same antena as the original Escort Passport 8500 (Non X50). Considering that it has a disadvantage because it is mounted low, where does Escort get off advertizing that the X50 has up to 50% more range than the 8500. It just doesn't seem right. Am I missing something? Also, the Bel 995 has the same range as the SR7. Is this detector the same as the 8500 in a different box? Any thoughts???

I actually think its the same box, with the X50 stamped on and a different firmware, but noboy asks me.
