I owned the ESD 7000 for 3 weeks, then got bit and turned into a V1 Zombie.

Anyways, I found this video that was just posted recently. I swear that it's a V1 placed inside a Cobra ESD 7000 shell. But yea, that's how amazing this video is!

But looking closely at this video, it's very hard to see a second light. The ESD has the left orange/red light on representing "power on". Then X is yellow/orange, then K/Ka green, and Laser red, etc. The video shows the ESD's display and I just see one light. Also, if you listen, I believe it's the K band alert. Single Brap. But looking again and again, I can't see a second light. Anyways, I think EVERYONE should check this out, because it is an amazing result!

P.S. The same person posted a second video of him approaching a cop shooting radar the same direction as his direction of travel. He got a real decent amount of warning for a radar gun pointing away from his car! It's a pity he stopped recording once he passed the cop and entered the main radar zone to see if the ESD reached the third strength level. The ESD sometimes has difficulty getting to the highest strength even with cop radar nearby.

That's pretty optimal conditions, but still a great detection. Had to be a couple of miles.

The Cobra's K and X band detection actually aren't that horrible. Not as good as V1 or Escort, but if a cop was running K band, I always had enough time to slow down. Might be only half a mile or less, but it was better than nothing. Now, after I got the V1, I was amazed that I could come up on the same trap and get twice the warning time, if not more. And Ka on any high end detector obviously tromps the Cobra anytime. When running into Ka traps, the Cobra brings rocks to a gun fight. K and X, it's more like .... bringing bow and arrows to a gun fight.

Cobras are decent on K and X band since those bands are easier to detect. On Ka and laser, you're done.

This is what I have instead of a Cobra now...I liked the compass so much, that after going to the V1, I put in a mirror with a compass ;)

Yeah same here. V1 and Garmin, works for me! By the way, SAcracker, I loved your comment on that video.

This is true, but was it worth bringing this thread back?
