Good lord this thing is fast. Give it a try this afternoon and see for yourself. I'm very very impressed.

Opera browser (http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/)

Opera is nice and fast, but I prefer being able to modify my browser to my needs (extension and coding wise)... and firefox lets me do that... although it takes forever to recompile :(

I've been meaning to download Firefox 3, but I'm just a lazy bastard so I still haven't done it...maybe I'll download both at the same time and do a proper comparison...

Hell yea 9.5 is snappy. I used Firefox for a long time, but it had way too many bugs in it and had compatibility issues with several sites. I've since switched to Opera and love it. The only thing I like about Firefox 3 is their color management/color space - it can be set to the same as your monitor.

Been using it all afternoon, is fast...but certain sites it doesn't get along with.

Have you all found a way to enable check spelling as you type? If it doesn't have this option it could be a deal breaker.

That and the lack of any real integrated ad blocking have been the killers of Opera for me. I know there is a way to block ads from within the browser, but it is more or less like the old Ad Block system in Firefox from 4 years ago where you had to specify each element on a page you wanted to block.
