Ok so I wrote the story of my laser adventure in the real experiance thread

http://www.radardetector.net/We-jammed-it...then-we-shot-it...-4337t.php

if you readd the story, you see that I am getting punch through at around 200 ft maybe 300. While this doesnt bother me too since I should be able to see the officer by them, I am still wondering why i am getting punch through that far away. I have a laser shield and veil and the blinder heads seem to be positioned well, so I'm guessing its my chrome grill. What do other people think?

The heads are next to the foglights (kinda hard to see with the lighting)

You are getting punch through because of that chrome, guaranteed.

haha o well I guess I'll have to live with it because there is no way I'm putting veil on that beautiful reflective surface.

Jtro you are lucky on that grille, mine are like 10x as much chrome

But I am really intrigued by the Veil on chrome... I am hoping it will look vaguely similar to the Saab accessory Black Pearl grilles as illustrated here (on red it looks like crap but on a dark coulour...)

I don't know if Saab still carries them, apparently not. But, the part number for a 9-3 is 02 67 765. The MSRP on it was $180.00 but maybe you can find a dealer that will cut you a deal...

In any case, I have a junk grille waiting to be Veiled so I can see the end result...

O wow those grills look very nice. I am going to the saab dealership tommorrow for break pads, I'll definetly ask them about the grill. Please post pictures of your grill with veil on it when you get a chance. I have seen veil on a chrome mazda symbol and it looked like dirt had built up on the symbol and hadn't been wiped away for 5 years.

a little bit of the chrome on the grille, but isnt those heads a little low to be "jamming" the headlights?

Have you measured the circumference?

Saab still sells Black Pearl Grills for 180, the dealership just has to order them. Don't know if I want to spend that kind of dough. As for the mounting position, the 18inch radius covers the front of the headlights, but leaves a small amount on the edges unprotected. The grill is less protected I believe.

I put the veil on my chrone grill and bumper. It looks very bad on chrome for some reason. Looks great on headlights.

I have Veil on the chrome grill on my Mercedes and it looks awesome - very much like the black pearl you mentioned.
