My x50 speaker is barely working now as of this morning. I can hardly hear it beep when I'm driving. I bought it from roy at xmas time. Anything i could try ?

Still under warranty send it back to Escort and they fix it.

yeah i know, but my question is if i bought it from radarbusters, shouldn't i be able to send it back to them and get a new one? i didn't buy it through escort directly...

RadarBusters.com is an official Escort reseller, Escort will gladly repair it for you. Honestly, even if they weren't, if your unit has the serial number intact they will usually repair it anyways.

The speaker problem could be due to a cracked solder joint if the X50 is continuously subjected to lots of vibration. Oxygen, are you or do you have a buddy who is experienced in working on electronics? Don't open the X50 case unless you or your buddy are aware of how to take proper ESD precautions in order to prevent even small amounts of static electricity from zapping the electronics inside the case.

yeah, i am good when it comes to electronics/wiring.. would i need to wear one of the bracelets to prevent static damage ? also, does it void the warranty if i open the RD myself? if you have pictures or an explanation on how to do it that would be awesome.. i can still hear the speaker but its not as loud as it's supposed to be, so it could be some faulty wiring... thanks for the help!
