Crazy. I didn't even know these existed until I went looking for info on it. I have no idea what the particulars are of the installation because the technology is so new. Just follow the instructions and put the display where it's easy to push the buttons.
My only suggestion is that you place the radar antenna as high as you possibly can. The higher it is off the road surface the better it will pick up signals over hills.

i thought about keeping the antennas in the car, like mounted high behind my rearview, and in the back window.
almost defeats the perpouse of a "remote" unit, but i like the high mount. and i dont think the remote sensors will like looking through the mesh grilles on my grand prix.
any other ideas.
heres a link, i lucked out and got it for under 100 shipped. :D

Mounting on the rear deck worked with my Bel 975r. I stuffed mine in a tissue box but you could probably do something more asthetically pleasing. As long as it has a clear view of the road between the two front seats you should be good to go. The best standard mounting position if you have a mesh grille would be within the plastic bumper where there are no plastic parts blocking the view. (You probably figured that out already.)
Once you get it installed I'll be curious to hear about how this unit performs. The whistler remotes intrigue me but I've never tried one.

I am very curious about this unit. I just found out about it today in the crutchfield magazine. Considering it is cheaper than the BEL 65 I am curious to see if it outperforms it. According to the description it is very easy to install. Wireless sensors sending data to remote mount display, im am very curious to hear about this detector from the experts.
Waiting anxiously :D

i like it. havnt had any near death experiences as of yet, but it seems to work well. i have the antenna mounted on the dash, as my bodykit is metal, so i cant remote mount it as intended.
with other noise, the module is a bit hard to hear if it isnt mounted near the top of the car. i have it in my center console temporaraly for now.
seems to be a solid unit. i get more falses, or what appear to be falses, thanmy bel 916 did. but it may just be that it detects that much better and im getting things from a farther range than before.
for 400 bucks id say no, get a traditional windshield mount. in my situation, having a remote mount isnt as practiacal other than it deterrs thievs cuz they dont know wht the he*l it is.
but if you get lucky like i did, it diddnt cost much more than a traditional, and i like it. ill keep everyone updated.
i lucked out on ebay.
basically install was pretty simple. the control module is very small, 3/4 of an inch by 2 1/2 inches IIRC approx. the antenna is the biggest part, bout three times the size approx in overal size. it has a power and ground wire, thats it for the antenna. the module has power, ground, and laser. that thing is a very small module suction cupped to the windshield.
all connections into the module are basically headphone jacks. so its plug and play as far as that goes. and it has an optional voice module that hooks in the same way.
sometimes because of the metal body kit on my car i wish i would have gotten a traditional detector. but this one i dont have to take down as thieves have prob no idea what the decent sized black box on my dash is. and unless they knew what they were doing, couldnt steal it all.
i cant attest to its protection with certainty, but is seems to work well. i get more alerts than before, but know to recognise them as falses. city 2 mode filters out all x band, so that is very nice. so i dont know if the falses are due t it detecting better than the bel, or not. thats about all i can compare it to.
ill get another detector somtime in the future for my other car, then ill start comparing.
