Since auto door openers set off K and X band alerts, could somebody use one of those in your car to set off alerts on those passing by you as you are driving?

And why exactly would you want to do this? There is enough crap ou there running on police radar frequencies causing all kinds of flasing. This is something I would not reccommend. I hope I didn't offend you but it just isn't the thing to do.

yes it would work...but only within 100 mtrs or so...unless there was a trimpot inside to crank up.

Just take a drone off of the signs with em, that will alert em for a good distance. I really wouldnt do that though.

Probably no. I dont think someone would go that far to harass people with RD's.

Why would other detector users want to set off other peoples detectors.....You will begin to make them use less....please guys no more messing with detector users if i knew you were messing with me I would right down your plate and report you for reckless driving...this stuff really pisses me off

Surplus microwave motion detectors are widely available. My friend has a modified motion detector that he uses and it's true that it will make brake lights go off and make the car equiped with RD nosedive specially as they are in the process of passing him. He used it to slow down vehicles. He also has a Highway Zapper that does the same thing set in X band frequency but they are no longer sold.

Thats a good thing if he use this to slow down some dangerous drivers some truckers are blocking the lanes sometimes and they do this for safety thats just another good way to slow them down.

That question is easy, people set off other people's radar detector's because they are jealous that they have one and they want to be the only one with one, so they set them off to piss them off.

100% true, plus those that hate drivers with RDs in their vehicles, those are the "speed always kill" ideology people, the defensive ones...
Personally I have already disabled the X band of my S2 and I've learned most of the places where I get false K alarms, all the Home Depot stores, other big stores, also lots of banks and subway stations trigger K alerts.

Your friend must be a devoted liberal, a defensive driver, cause he really hates those that can manage speed in a very safely way... and I bet he enjoys driving in the fast lane doing just the speed limit only because he hates skilled drivers... ask me what I'm usually doing to those that enjoy beeing the liberal judges of the road :x
