I'm not sure if this is in the right area or not, but I wanted it to get as much exposure as possible. If its not, a mod can move it.
Anyway I just joined trapster and its cool as hell, so I decided to start the RadarDetector.net group, lets make it the best one possible. Here is the join link. Trapster - Speed Trap Sharing System (http://www.trapster.com/manage-groups.php?action=join&id=57) Trapster is a database that is updates by its users regarding redlight camera and speed trap areas. It works with cellphones, pdf and even better, your GPS navigator. Its free to join and use. Have fun and I hope we get a ton of members. :D

Best way to join trapster group:
1. Join trapster
2. Search for group "radardetector.net"
3. select request invite and include RD.net member name in message.
4. Wait for me to approve you, I log on several times a day so it will not take long (once we have a good amount of members I will appoint some moderators so that the approval process goes faster)
5.Have fun...:sheep:

Is there a message board or some way of seeing other member and communicating with them? Also, I have voted yes on some speed traps in my area and posted one... none of them are showing up in the group map.

no there really isn't, this kinda sucks. They really should update the system so there is.

I contacted the trapster website about adding some kind of chatting feature to the groups, I'll have to see what they say.

I can still only see your traps and no one elses... not in the US anyhow.

Ok I just got an e-mail from trapster customer service. They added my suggestion that group members can see each other and message each other now. :) They also fixed the problem where we could not see the group memebers trap additions.

I'm in. Hopefully I can get it working on my Magellan 3225.
So far, the only problem with the Trapster site was that there was no "Apply" button (using FF) to select POIs within the map, so I had to download whole US. Not sure if that includes Canada, which I also need. Had to sort and prune using Excel.
Downloaded and used Magellan's POI Manager to convert to Magellan format and load onto GPS, but GPS can't see it yet. Any hints there? EDIT: I fixed this by moving it to the /USR/CPOI on the TFAT.
Once I get this loaded, what's the easiest way to mark and upload new locations to Trapster. Can I use the GPS, or is it all manual right now?
