View Full Version : J out of a LEO today

Was on the highway where a LEO was shooting traffic the other way and my 9500ci went off KA 34.7 then my V1 alerted to KA and then "J" out the LEO. POP is has been off but junking a LEO wasint good. However this is the first time it did it with a real encounter.
Guess this happens often? I believe turning off KA guard will stop the junking feature? It alerts anyway so i might as well choose to ignore it my self.

No. This doesn't happen normally. Can you give a little more description of your encounter? So, the LEO was running C/O? You eventually passed the LEO and the V1 was silent the whole time?

LEO was running C/O 34.7 shooting away from me and i was alerted by the V1 for about 2 seconds then it J the alert. 9500ci kept alerting about 3/4mi passed the LEO before i got off.

I suggest you power cycle the V1 next time you get a J out.

Will shutting off KA guard prevent J outs? And power cycling will do what?

If i'm not mistaken turning KA guard off should prevent J outs. It's strange scenerio. Never exprienced myself. I think snoopyc4 wants you power cycle b/c to correct any internal issues with your V1.

I got the power cycling idea from one of the archived stickies in the V1 forum:

As for Ka guard, I wouldn't turn it off. That will generate more Ka falses which I assume you don't want.

Thank's for the info snoopyc4. From what i read it shouldn't J out if you have POP off which CJR238 did...
Having KA guard off there is no/minimal filtering and V1 will report all KA alerts.

No need to be a constant troll, its unnecessary and disrespectful. Bring up something useful sometime.

Could it be possible that the weak away Ka radar was over-rided by a junk RD at the same time therefore the V1 assumed the radar was a RD? Could this other RD be the remote RD when bounced off of the rear of an auto in front? :)

How far were you from the source at the time of the J-out? The only times I've heard of the V1 J'ing out a LEO is when right on top of the source. From my experience with the 3.872, I have yet to J-out a LEO.
Does anyone know if there is a set time after a J-out that the V1 needs to alert before reporting more threats?

No
the CI has no RD specific emissions

It's 2 seconds on the 3.872, about 20 seconds on older models IIRC.

I was almost parallel when it j'd out. But it was short and strong because the LEO was facing the other way.
I repositioned my V1 because i got a new windshield so hopefully ill see some improvements.

I've never had a J out with the 3.872. It was very common with my 3.826.
I keep POP off though ... the V1 is ridiculously annoying with POP on ... so maybe that's why I've never seen one.

I had J outed a real cop passing me once with (POP off) on my detector. I saw the cop passing me as I junked him out, happens but rare. I do not doubt CJR, he owns both a Escort and V1 no reason to be biased.
