After driving from Upstate NY to Long Island NY, here are my experience with Valentine one:

1) V1 is too noisy....x-band and k-band are too noisy. Compare to my previous Beltronics 995 which is quite. Not sure if this is good or bad for V1?

2) Not much of Ka band and when I passed almost 5police car (or whatever you call them) in HOV lane without Ka band, I'm thinking that V1 is not doing the job (or the police car radar is OFF?)....so what I did is I open and used my 5years old Beltronics together with V1 to check if there's something wrong with my new V1.

3) When both are running, K band of V1 is very good on detecting compare to my 5years Beltronics.

4) V1 is detecting my Beltronics as x-band...not sure if this is okay.

I hope somebody will enlightened me with my experience. Thank you in advance.

Yes, the V1 is noisy.

You should not be running two detectors together ... they interfere with each other and skew your results.

to do a true comparison, do multiple drive-bys with only one detector at a time turned on

The Suffolk Sherrifs in Long Island use Laser & Ka band Instant On. Therefore it is difficult to detect them. Many times the Sherrifs just sit their looking at their laptops or watching for people violating the HOV rules. I have detected them several times using the I/O Ka with my new V1. They are definitely detecting speeds with very short bursts of I/O.

I went from Redline to a V1. Absolutely no regrets.

Yes the V1 can be noisly, but it's doing it's job, detect radar signals, NOT cops.
