Ever since I got my car last June I have wanted a V1 but did not feel like spending the money. My summer was ticket free but my luck ran out in the fall. So I bought a Whistler XTR-150 and I have been ticket free since October but I really wanted something better. So last week I caved and shelled out the 400$ and I'm very happy that I did. I have it mounted to the right of my RVM and hardwired. I will post some pictures when I get a chance.

Welcome aboard, keep the 150 as a backup since it's not a bad little unit itself.

I have been searching the forums haven't seen this posted and don't know where to ask so I'll ask it here. I drive a 2004 BMW 325xi and I followed the Mad Russian's DIY for hardwiring. The V1 works great but my fuel gauge is out of whack. The day after I hardwired it, the fuel gauge was saying full when It was supposed to be 3/4 tank. Today when I started my car it sways back and for a bit and the mile range on the on board computer increases and decreases rapidly, but after 10-15 seconds it goes back to normal. Is this because of the V1 hardwire or is the fuel level sender coincidentally failing.

P.S.
I promised pictures and I have them but I can't upload until my post count reaches 15 so I will have them up ASAP.

Is there any malfunction when you use the accessory jack/plug combined with the other[coiled] cord ?

I am assuming you mean the the cigarette plug so to answer the question no. But it's weird because it started doing this a day after I did the hardwire and I'm thinking if the V1 affected it the problem would have arose immediately.

Regarding the issue with your BMW... It's a BMW. They are truly the Ultimate Driving Machine, and built like tanks, but trust and believe that the germans can't wire anything for sh*t. Seriously, electrical gremlins. If I have a low battery, my wipers turn on and won't turn off. How is that for weird :). Also, check your fusible link.
