Hello guys,
I'm located in St. Petersburg, FL. I have a new (less than a 1000 miles) 2011 Honda Accord. I got two tickets in the past 2 months and decided this has to stop.
I am willing to pay up to $1000 to have this LI purchased and installed properly. I don't want (extremely nervous) to drill any holes in my new car. Is drilling required? If drilling is required I would rather have a professional do it.
Do you have any recommendations for installation in the St. Petersburg / Tampabay area. My uncle owns an auto mechanic shop, and ASE certified mechanic, been so for many years. Do you think I'm better off purchasing equipment and having my uncle assisting me with the installation?
Thanks much guys. Happy holidays.

Where in St. Pete are you from? Im always there in the summers if you want to wait 6 months! Haha
But it really doesnt require much drilling/cutting at all.
Post a pic of the front of your Accord to allow us to look at possible mounting locations.

Post up some pics and we can give you mounting ideas. They are not hard to install and I have never drilled a hole yet to do an install.

Do you think I should paint them (my headlights) with VEIL? It's a new car and I am scared that the VEIL may ruin the paint or the headlights.

No I think it will be fine with the LI.

My two bits: Position the LI sensors on the underside of the uppermost portion of the grill (the big horizontal part), as close to the headlights as is practical. Regarding Veil; It's my experience that a good LI install yeilds a JTG (jam to gun) result so there is nothing to gain by doing anything further.
Very critical: 1. Make sure that the sensors are level and perfectly straight ahead. 2. Get the LI & install tested for performance as soon as is practical. 3. Don't depend entirely on the LI to save you. There are many factors that can get you a ticket and the laser ahead of you is only one of many. Apply lots of common sense and caution. I hear that aircraft and marked roads are in use in Florida.
If you do decide to apply Veil, be aware that it damages paint and it is almost impossible to apply evenly with a brush. Also, it drys very slowly, requiring days in cooler weather.
