Hi, guys, i am kinde of new here. I speakd with Valentine 1 forum-guys and they told me that its useless to have a Radar Detector, and i should go for a jammer. And why are people buying and telling that V1 is one of the best when u cant use it? i dont follow :)
Can you explain why and wich one of jammers would work in sweden here. There is a link explaining wich equariment police using here.
This link is about laserguns in sweden police use :)
https://www.tispol.org/cleopatra/swe...speed-enforcem
Sweden: a speed camera box every 4.5 km
In Sweden the police and the National Road Administration carried out a trial of automatic speed cameras from 2002. By the end of 2003, about 500 km of the main roads were covered with camera boxes in which cameras can be placed randomly. A further 250 km was completed in 2004. The total number of boxes was then 335. The total road length covered is 750 km, so there will be a box on average every 4.5 km. Forty four road links are involved. 9 500 vehicles were photographed by speed cameras in 2003 but the driver was only identified in 6 000 cases, and legislation does not yet allow the owner of the car to be held responsible. Some efforts are being made to implement this change in law. Normally cameras are installed on accident prone roads with speed limits of 90 km/h. There is however an increasing use of camera boxes at local speed limits of 70 or 50 km/h at intersections etc. The regions of the Road Administration (7 regions) together with the county police (21 counties) decide on the placement and the number of camera boxes.
Early accident studies are consistent with existing models showing the effect of speed on safety. The preliminary effect on fatal accidents is a reduction of 50% and on all injury accidents 25%. The speed reduction is 5-10 km/h.

Hi Azmaz,
I have read your post in the V1 section and what they are telling you is that although the V1 or other detectors will detect laser it is too late one this happens. Police using laser guns will have your speed reading instantly. The solution is something like Laser Interceptor which gives you a warning that you have been targeted by laser but unlike a radar detector it then fires back laser at the same frequency and pulse rate instantly, therefore stopping them from getting a speed reading.
If the police in your area use both radar and laser, then you need both a radar detector and a laser jammer. And if radar detectors are illegal in your country then it would be best to get one that cannot be detected like an escort redline or a beltronics STI.
The bottom line is this, if you want maximum protection and they use both detection systems, then you need both countermeasures, end of.
Hope this helps.

Radar detectors like the V1 are great at detecting radar and giving you enough time to slow down. They are pretty much useless in trying to protect you against laser.
Only a jammer like the LI will protect you from laser. So to have a complete defense system you need a radar detector like the V1 for radar threats and a laser jammer like the LI for lidar threats.

Hi there :)
That was the question i have wondered a long time. Why are people buying it if it not working :) So it give me enaugh time u say. Nice. Because in youtube, V1 gives slow impuls sounds when it feels laser, so i think it is not so unusless as people say. But ofcourse is LI better option, but i want to know Radar Cameras coming too, and as i understood LI dont give impuls sounds, or am i wrong?
But LI will police notice instently if they pull me over, hahathe radar warner on LI is big, thouse black things am i talking about now. SO V1 seems a better option for me. But the big question is, how much time i get before the laser hitt me, from for ex. a laser gun or Radar Kamera :) ?

Ok I think you may be confused. The V1 has a laser detector. Laser detectors do not give you advanced warning. No laser detector will help you. This may help you understand a laser detector. Imagine your car making a sound right before you run into something. That sound has the same usefulness as a laser detector. We buy radar detectors to detector radar. All radar detectors come with a laser detector. It's just how it works.

Something completely different is a laser jammer. Laser jammers should give you enough time to slow down. After you have slowed down, turn them off and the cop gets your speed. He won't get your speed until you turn it off.
The LI and the V1 have 2 different purposes. V1 warns you of radar. Most of the time, the v1 does this before the cop has your speed. The V1 also warns you of laser (but due to the science of laser, advanced warning is not possible). The LI does what the V1 can't do. The LI can not warn of Radar. It only detects and jams laser. The LI will prevent the cop of seeing your speed if he is using a laser gun. You turn the LI off after you have slowed down, and he won't get suspicious. The "stealth" factor will depend on your car. Some cars it's easy to hide the LI heads and on other cars, it can be difficult.

Hi there again :) You found me :)
Ok, now i get it. LI does not warn of Speed-Cams, only the lasers from police guns. But V1 does warn for Speed-Cams and sometimes for Lasers from police guns. But does V1 warn me in time for police-guns? I mean it gives sound when it feels laser around so it would give me enaught time for me to stand up on my breaks, right? Because on youtube, the V1 does give a warning-noice a good time before you even can see the cops, or is it just a tough commersial for V1?
PS: can i place jammers here on my car, because i dont want to place them above registration-plate, to visible.

To clarify, neither the V1 nor any other LASER DETECTOR will give you any advance warning of anything laser, whether it be a gun or a stationary camera. Period. If you do not have an active LASER JAMMER, you have no chance of getting past either kind of trap without a ticket unless you just don't speed to begin with.
Neither the V1 nor any Laser Jammer warns you in advance of cameras. There are a couple of RADAR DETECTORS that will warn you when you are approaching a known camera or speed trap area. It is based on GPS coordinates, not detection of actual signals. So, there may or may not actually be a camera or cop there.
There are also devices that are specifically designed to give you those GPS based warnings, which you can add to your arsenal and keep your V1, instead of having to buy one of the detectors that has GPS built in. The devices are made by Cheetah or Speedcheetah, and are called the C100 and C50.
The laser jammer, the camera detector, and the radar detector are three separate devices for three separate threats. Sounds like you need all three, as do most people. Yes, the V1 is the best all-around performer of RADAR DETECTORS, but again, that has nothing to do with LASER. You have to address that threat with a separate device.
There are two laser jammers that will work very well for you in Sweden. Those are the Laser Interceptor and the AntiLaser G9. I would not even risk any other jammer you may find. It is important to understand that a BMW is among the hardest cars to protect with a laser jammer, because the ugly front end does not allow optimum mounting options without putting the jammer heads out in the open. No, you can not put them under the bumper, where you have illustrated, and expect reliable performance. Your best bet is to get the Laser Interceptor HP, and mount the heads vertically in-between the upper grille fins, as widely spaced as possible.
And do NOT forget your rear end. Stationary cameras are not known to shoot your rear, however cops with guns often do it, because it is safer for them to sit way off the roadway and look ahead than to sit on a shoulder and look back. That means four heads, or the Laser Interceptor HP Quad. Yes, it's expensive. Your option is to just slow down.
Good luck!
Duno what you are talking about, my BMW was easy as pie to protect.

It'd be easy for me, or Won Hunglo, or Snoopyc4, or category4, or djrams80 to protect too. But we're not talking to an expert here. We're trying to advise a n00b who does not know all we know. If you have some useful and specific advice to help him, feel free to submit it. But let's not confuse him with pointless remarks.

Whats the deal with jammers in sweden anyway? Are they so illegal that its just not even worth it ie like in canada?

Wow, yes, now i am getting it slowly. So to get a good protection, i have to buy a V1 or smth like it and LI quad. hm...i think i go for V1 for the moment, and get LI later. Or maybe save from begining for LI and get V1 later :)
Thanx for everything

Hehe, some pros here i see :) So can you maybe take a pic from you PC and mark placec u placed jammers on, with paint with red marks? I loved to see how you placed on a BMW :)
