I've been hanging around and ready posts and I have become very curious of the escort after purchasing the bel. The bel 65 does a good job for me but I keep wondering is the x50 has better range on ka. Has anyone done a real world comparison between the two and do you want to share it with us. I want to hear from those who have owned or do own both.

We have photo radar where i live, and for whatever reason, 2 RX65s out of 3 broke with some SERVICE REQUIRED flashing... I think i also saw some CAL thing as well.
The X50 has worked flawlessly so far. As for photo radar performance (Which really requires a sensitive detector), the X50 detected a good 5 seconds earlier than the V1, while the RX65 failed to detect the radar 2 times out of 10 (i have videos of this). I dont know why the RX65 failed to beep... i suspect it was because of the eventual SERVICE REQUIRED (So maybe both units were already faulty to start, hence the testing was skewed already).
But long story short, on photo radar, the X50 warns earlier than the V1. We don't have any rear shooting radar cops here, so the rear antenna is virtually pointless... all targets come from the front, and in fact i'd rather not know about radar in the rear since it would always be false.

I've used both and haven't really been able to tell much difference. IMO the BEL may pick up KA a little faster but you can't go wrong with either unit... :)

I can believe that the X50 is better than the V1 on PHOTO radar but Mike Valentine has come up with a tweak on firmware 3.8.21 that is made for photo radar used in Europe. V1 is now probably is on par or better than the X50 with photo.

Sorry for the spelling errors. it's not an error it's intentional it's in everyone of your posts. there is something called a spacebar you can use it most of the time it appears except when you mean to say "I am"

I will wait until I see some test results before I believe anything Mr Valentine says. He has had a history of making comments on his website that are not even true. Lets see some hardcore testing to prove this.

But it seems the "E U R" mode on the latest V1s is not documented and no one really knows what frequencies it scans or anything... :shock:
