So I'm going to be selling my camaro. I just got bored with modding it and bought my self a new toy to mod and have fun with, a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT:

Pics arent quite perfect, it's hard to focus the camera well when its a bit chilly and dark (very long exposure shots, 20-30+ seconds)

love the ride. i love any thing with an LS v8. they should have kept pontiac going just for the g8

Thanks! I lived in Albany once. Good times. The GT is a modified LS engine, it's actually an L76 with all that displacement on demand stuff where it runs on 4 cyl to save gas when you just putter around. Pontiac was actually losing money on it, they were selling em at a loss. I'm not sure if they have the best financial guys, maybe thats why they're out of business.

Yep! It's mostly re-badged except the front pontiac emblem on the nose and the middle pontiac emblem on the trunk. The trunk side badge is a holden and it has holden center caps on the rims.

Thank you, it's a Nikon D40X, pretty entry level DSLR, but you really don't need anything too fancy to take a decent picture.
Nice car man great for drifting lol. I have a Black car as well and just like you I love it to death. Thing is I’ve got to wash it every second day and any new marks really upset me. Guess It comes with being a kool cat eh.

The GT is a altered LS website, it's actually an L76 with all that displacement on need products where it works on 4 cyl to preserve gas when you just club around. Pontiac was actually taking a reduction on it, they were promoting em at a reduction. I'm not sure if they have the best economical folks, maybe thats why they're out of enterprise.

Funny,your running Holden badges/centre caps now thats' a GOOD thing.Twits over here in Australia plaster Chev badges on them,when they don't even have Chevs in them!

You mean like running Holden badges here in the USA? The VE is sold as a Chevy in the Middle East.

didn't know that about the G8 engine. I thought they were just putting that active fuel management in the trucks. I got an 05 tahoe 5.3. I feel like the engines are all pretty similar, single cam over head valve. I love how they can get so much out of a simple, cheap and very reliable design. my 5.3 has 115k and has never leaked or burned a drop of anything.
I'm getting a PhD from RPI. And won't be here much longer. I guess ill have to change my user name after that lol. I just saw a new cts V parked at the new dino BBQ we have here in Troy. love the looks of that car.

Congrats on the G8! I am very happy with mine. Though I also own a GTO, the G8 is my daily road warrior! One thing you will like about the G8 is the very poor radar signature LOL.

DO IT! You won't regeret it. Slap a CAI on it, pulley, and a tune, and you turn an already fast car into a F'ING FAST car! I ran 11.8 @ 122 with just a CAI and mail-order tune. Get a black one to help with the countermeasures.

That's a fast V! The new M5 just beat it in R&T comparison on the track but the M5 had a custom made, street legal race tire that helped.
I love my 05 CTS-V but it stays in storage most of the time. I drive 600+ miles a week and getting 40+ mpg in a 9-5 is a little easier on the budget even though I spent allot of time getting it's weight under 3500 lbs. Or about 900 less than your V. I have headers, intake, and a tune and should still be nipping at your heels.

No doubt your V can scoot! For being big heavy 4-door sedans, these things embarass a lot of "fast cars". Over the winter, I'm porting the S/C and the snout, adding a throttle body, cam, pulleys, headers, injectors, and a heat exchanger....gotta have at least 600 whp! The OP's G8 can be modded to be quite the killer as well.
