Has anyone gone to look at these or purchased one? Man I went looking last night and found a loaded up version--everything including nav/20" chrome rims, they had a solid white one and Silver! My god I fell in love with it.
Think I will go test drive it Friday and see what kind of deal they will give me on my 4 Runner :D

no offense but i think a Toyota 4 runner is a better built car compared to any GM car

What does that mean? What is "better built" car? Is it something that is assembled carefully by master craftsmen in a small workshop... is it something really well designed, something really well screwed together? Something reliable?
For what it is worth, I have a Chevy pickup. It has 353 000 on the odometer. And the odometer has been completely dead for as long as I've had it at least. So at least another 25 000 km on top, and I've done most of that towing cars on a trailer. And it's only a 4,3 litre V6 in a fullsize truck with a slushbox. All I've done is oil changes.
I also have a GMC pickup with the 5,0 litre (305). It's odo reads 248 000 *miles*. That odometer also has stopped counting
GM makes the best light trucks on the market and the new series of full size SUV absolutely owns the competition.
The new Tahoe looks to be very well constructed actually, and it has excellent drivetrain options, good old GM V8's... but no diesel

I would imagine the price of gas is driving down the diesel demand? :?:

things fall apart
been in a silverado where the chairs rock
denalis where the panels are loose, plasticy feeling
even the escalades arent all that, its still a suburban/tahoe
get into an accord and a taurus or an impala....
sales speak for themselves! imports have been doing much better in sales then any domestic car maker.... uhhhh.... i guess people prefer imports? what ya think?
GM.... bankruptcy? didnt they just lay-off people today?
domestic trucks(F seies,Ram...) are definitely much better then domestic cars, and true the new ones are much nicer, but if i had the money i wouldnt get one
didnt the ridgleline just win midsize truck of the year
and re-sale value? corolla vs neon, accord vs. taurus....
as for reliability, scion, toyota and lexus were always up there.

Take a look at the new generation of the GM full size SUV's, I agree the dash they had on the last generation was pretty lame in the touchy-feely regard, though it had pretty good ergonomics...
Ridgeline won midsize truck of the year and it's a very innovative vehicle. But it isn't really in the same category. It doesn't have the same towing and payload capabilities as a "real" pickup, but has nicer road performance and people-mover ability... that being said what do you buy a truck for?
GM still sells more cars and trucks in a year than Toyota
F series or the GM fullsize pickups (Sierra / Silverado) have been the #1 selling vehicle on the road for the past three decades...

I was getting 11 miles per gallon on my ~1300 kg Saab 900 S...
Turns out the crap Napa fuel filter that was installed, somehow the aluminium casing electrolytically reacted with the iron of the mount that holds it in, causing corrosion, leading to holes and fuel spraying out of the damn thing.
http://xs74.xs.to/pics/06133/****tyfilter.jpg (http://xs.to)
Now the fuel filter is for some reason located between the fuel tank, the passenger rear footwell, the rear axle and the RR suspension. To change it you have to raise the rear of the car a good 30 centimetres off the ground beyond the ground clearance and shove yourself in there.

This next statement is based purely on observation and not any statistical data, but most people I have seen driving Ridgelines aren't "real" truck people. They are the same ones who buy SUVs as an alternative to minivans and whose only offroading is parking in the grass for the kids' soccer games. I live in a town where the trucks are actually used to haul things in the bed and tow. These guys don't really have a choice but to drive trucks b/c nothing else will fill their daily needs. Most of the Ridgelines I have seen have 20+" rims w/35 series tires so you know they aren't towing or going off road with those. Honda was smart to make a "softer" Avalanche that would appeal to customers who didn't want a "work" truck.

I pulled a big Belarus tractor out of the mud with a Saab 900 once, and gave a pickup a little pull to get it moving on the ice (but that was easy)

My worst one was for some reason, I was stopped at a light on a slight incline, and I grabbed 3rd gear instead of 1st... I had smoke coming from under the hood! But a clutch job on a 900 is like an hour tops, don't have to remove the engine, trans or anything.

Up here in Cleveland I see and know many folks who drive pickups who never ever have anything in the back of the truck. To me they are a waste... at least with SUVs you have usefull dry space for stuff and passengers in the back.
How often do you SUVowners here really go offroading? Once? Twice? Never?
My wife's old Accord was getting to old and we needed some more room to occasionally carry something bigger (like a printer I recently bought for example), my car is also small so we decided to get her a bigger one. So we went with a Nissan Murano. Its sortof an SUV form, but in reality it probably has no more offroad capability than a minivan or a car. But we bought it for the space, the ride and the AWD.
A full size GM SUV would have been waay too big for our needs and would probably not even have ffit in our garage.
Its a strange feeling to be SUV people though.

I am always carrying $hit in the back of my truck. And I wanted a 4WD because of the crazy A$$ IL weather.
