Get a pair of Alpine type-r's 10" or 12". They sound good and tight.
I push mine with a hifonics 1500d amp. Good clean power.
all for less than $500.

Type R's are a good option. for your trunk i would maybe put 1 12" Kicker Solo Baric L5. put about 400-500 watts to it, and you would be set :D . i personally have 4 12" Hart Audio EKG series. i love square subs :) .

For $800 and under get a 12" RE SX and put ~ 1200w to it in a ported box or about 800w to it in a sealed box.

Resonant Engineering is High quality, this would be a good bet too, for overall SQL.
