    Default STi impressions

I've been driving with the STi now for almost a week and so far I am impressed with it's filtering. I haven't seen any real alerts, but on the normal route I take the STi seems to filter better than the RX65 and my V1. What do the other STi owners think?

    Thanks,

    CC

Mine seems to be really good on filtering too. My STi seems to pick up real K band threats further away than my 8500, but the 8500 falses just sligtly more.

I just received my STi A4 M9. I had to exchange my first one because it would overheat in the summer and display service required.

Very happy with my STi XR (NZ and Aus). Better range on K-band than the RX65. No falses apart from the usual shopping centre K-band which is same as the RX65. Love the caution warning from road works and ambulance with siren and lights.

I have no such feature on my STI (A4M9)... for road works anywhere there is an electronic speed measurement sign I get the K alert but for EMS vehicles with all siren and lights on I get nothing :?

Other than that, STI is all black (mine is hardwired), visor organisor black, tinted windows that makes all the interior very dark, for stealth this stuff is excelent plus it alerted me to a real laser trap and some Ka Toronto cops... I'm using it since 09/05...

The STI does have a SWS alert feature. Of course if the emergency services don't use the transmitters, the feature doesn't work. Make sure SWS is turned on

Oh, so it's thru the SWS feature... innitialy I thought I missed something... all RDs, or at least the high-end ones (S2 one of them), carry this feature, I once had it on all the time, Ontario and US, but nothing, no SWS message at all, that's why I've had it off after that... maybe I'll turn it on just to see what happens... Thanks for clarification...

The only thing I really HATE with my STi is that if I am at lights and I mute it, the signal will somtimes go away and it will alert again, where as the RX65 stays quiet when I mute it...really annoys me!

After returning my first two STi's to Pilot (for excessive falsing and "Service Required" displays) and purchasing one with the later versions from Roy, I think I'm happy with the one I have now.

The only cons I can list is that the audio does not ramp up like my X50. The brightness control goes through programming and not a seperate switch. You cannot just lower the volume on an alert, it's either full on or muted or allow us to control the volume of the auto mute, it's just too low.

Does it really defeat the Spectre II or III? Is it still possible to get nailed by the Spectre?
