STI 33.8 issue never existed or already is fixed? PART 2

The 33.8 issue is related to CRAP, not POOP. :lol:

It was due to filtering Beltronics had to include because of Crapra leakage, not POP detection, that the 33.8 issue turned up.

Pop is still poop though. If this is the case then why are the RX65's,X50's,985,s,etc not effected?

Jim would probably know the answer to that, whereas I can only venture a guess, but since the STi is an entirely new animal, designed from the ground up, related to the RX65 et al. only by a brand name, its software is also a new animal and they're still working the bugs out.

Thank you for the invite. Your correct in saying about my skepticism soley based on what I have experienced with my STi. Twice I had 33.8 hits at exactly 1 mile. One being a stationary IO up the road and the other was moving.

Base on your info my STi does have the issue and it very well could, thus limiting my STi at only 1 mile detection. So would the upgrade be worth it for me, I have no clue and will wait to see what others find out when sending theirs in for the upgrade.

I never have tried to blanket all STi's as not having the 33.8 issue as I cant speak for others. I also understand GOL has allot riding on their test to be pulling "crap" to promote various detectors and consider the GOL test as fact thus declining your invitation.

For now I will settle on my STi having the 33.8 issue limiting me to 1 mile detection.

1 mile is nothing great really so it does warrant concern possibly. Then again, this depends a lot on the road conditions. I have picked up Ka from miles away with both my Bell 995 and also the V1. I would have to say that the V1 had the most range by far.

The 1 mile was for IO detection and other was constant on. I am excited about the newer firmware release. I just wish there was more solid confirmation on its release and other reporting back with results.
