Actually it’s completely the opposite (im exaggerating like the above). There is allot higher risk of getting a ticket from a V1 than a 9500I.Quote:
I would estimate the additional risk of getting a ticket using the 9500i vs. the V1 to be around 100%. It may be higher, but the risk in my opinion is at least double.
A V1 will go off let’s say 20 times on your regular commute to work with X & K band. Obviously you will always analyze what you here and wait to see if the ramp up is different or see a LEO. you may also become numb to X band if there is no threat of X. so now your listing to see if its X band or K if its stronger, longer or multiple.
On the other hand out of those 20 falses the 9500I will only go off 2-3 times so now you can react instantly when it goes off. So the extra detection range is mute.
There is also the fact that you won’t feel over confident like people do with the V1. Extra sensitivity doesn’t always mean better detection/reaction time.
Actually it’s not an unrealistic as you would think because it’s not just the CPU, it’s the combination of the CPU and horn. The useless off axis sensitivity passed 40 degrees (see Cosine effect http://copradar.com/preview/chapt4/ch4d1.html ) on the 9500I is very minimal so you weed out all those falses and not real LEO threats.Quote:
The idea that a tiny CPU inside the 9500i can effective track and screen out multiple false bogies while only notifying you of the real threat is not realistic. Sooner or later, you are going to get nailed.
The quiet ride is the key to the lowest risk just like having the longest detection range.Quote:
But the idea that the 9500i somehow provides the lowest risk of ticket, and also the quietest ride, is something I do not believe
Not a good idea, this is the most likely time that your speed will drift. I never need to turn off my 9500I I just use "A" mode if I want quiet.Quote:
The best solution for this is to turn off your detector
Yes a 9500I will have 75% of a V1's range in some cases but you will react quicker with a quiet detector than what you will with a noisy one.
An anonymous quote from a V1 user that got a ticket:
Quote:
I would have been driving slower because I didn't get that same feeling of confidence with my 9500 and may have avoided the ticket all together.
