I was curious since the merger of Bel and Escort most if not all current models are using the M4 and some S7's are roaming around.
What was Bels and Escorts platform before the merger? Who had the S7?
Escort's platform before the merger was this one:
That was used in several 90's detectors, like the Passport 4500, 4600, 5000, etc etc, and was also for a while after the merger in the Passport 7500 and Solo 5110.
As for what BEL used prior to the merger, I'm not 100% sure... It was either an early S7, or a platform prior to that which had a horn assembly that looked somewhat similar to the S7 but used three DRO's as the 1st LO's and switched between the three.
I would say that the current designs are derived more from pre-merger BEL products than pre-merger Escort products.
Do you think the Bel design was superior?
