Caught by laser using Bel Sti

one lesson i learned from all my years of driving through VA on my way from NJ to NC or vice-versa for school: never speed in VA haha. i was luckily never pulled but had a few times when i thought i was dead-meat, especially being an out-of-stater in a sporty type coupe.

1 its not a V1.

2 your busted anyway.

I had a laser save the other day with my 9500I but the LEO was at the top of a hill shooting down a curve at me so I got lucky.

Hey, are you sure you're laser detection mode is turned on?

1. I live in Canada so STI is my only option (no v1.. :( )

2. I am positive there are 33.8GHz in my area (according to other members).

3. I tried the auto dim test and I DO have the bug (or so I think).

IF a leo hits you with laser and your jammer messes it up, wont he pull you over anyways for suspition of a jammer? are they illegal in Canada? What is the best one (one I should get)? THanks Boyz (and girls).

So what you ran into is a good old OPP radar trap. They aim the tripod mounted gun at the ground, roughly 1000' up the road and catch cars as they come around corners, or over a hill. No detector would have stopped you getting the ticket.

I know my STi has warned me every time I have been shot by laser long before I ever got the 33.8 fix. Luckily I wasn't speeding. Do you have tint on the top of your windshield?

Laser detection is pretty iffy with a lot of detectors, a pretty useless also. I'm with the peanut gallery. Get a jammer.

You STi warned you everytime? Where is it mounted? I do not have heavy tint at the top. I will be sending my detector in for the flash n e ways for the 33.8GHz. Arent jammers easy to get caught with? Wont they stop you?

I mean, if a leo cannot lock onto your car, wont he just pull you over anyways and search your car? They are not stupid in the sence that they know people can purchase these jammers that make it impossible to read the speed using laser. What do you think? Also, can they be detected using VG2 or spectre?

Apparently they can't always get a lock, at least not right away.

Oft' recommended procedure is to get your speed down, and kill the jammer, then Leo can get a lock, and think nothing more of it.

While jammer's appear to be legal 'round here, it' s probably still the best recommendation to do this, so as not to raise concerns among law enforcement that laser jammers are becoming a problem for them.

Laser Park Pro, which I've only now got on order, apparently has a feature where you can set it to auto shut off after a period of 5 or 8 or whatever seconds. So you dont' have to worry about takign your eyes off the road. You get an alert, your jammer jams, and 8 seconds later -- sufficient to get below speed limits, jammer switches off. Voila, your cloaking device cloaks it's own tell-tale trail of deception. I love it.
