I bet CactusMan is already out driving and hunting for radar.
You betcha !!!!!!!!
Sadly for photo radar vans it wont matter if you use Auto or Highway.:(
You still get almost no range from just about any detector including the V1.
Two database updates in March alone - not bad 3/2 and 3/9.
Well, you have been driving with your GX65 for a couple of days now. How do you like it?
So far so good- it lives up to the specs and modes offered.
Today I was coming back from a town and in a construction zone I encountered a Ka band alert. The PSL was 35 mph and as I rounded a curve and saw the cop car my detector displayed my speed as 33 mph.
I have not encountered any red light cams yet but I dont live in a city.
The GX65 lives up to its reputation so far, software updates are frequent and easy to install from my computer.
The only 2 cons I have found (minor ones at that) is that this detector weighs in a little over 9 oz and the windshield mount could be better.
The voice alerts are super clear and easy to understand and so far the GX65 is a +++++ detector.
Bel sends me emails alerting me to updates and all I have to do is go to their website and download them.
Hi Cactus,
You might want to consider semi-permanently mounting RD brackets in your vehicles, using the mounting method which I have described in the following thread. The result is that your GX65 will be held much more stabily to the windshield:
Mounting a RD above your RVM
Some dude on fleabay occasionally sells a set of four brackets for dirt cheap.
