Thumbs up Good Trip with the STi

Well last night me and the wife went for a drive from Toronto, Ontario to Niagara Falls, Ontario. We were just going to the casino anyways on the way there doing 125 Km/Hr in a 100 Km/Hr zone the STi picks up a very faint K hit i used the cruise to slow down to 105. Two min up the road K goes off again and behind a construction road sign an OPP car pulls out i think why is he pulling out lol he cant detect the STi, i wasn't speeding but what i didn't see was the truck gaining on me really quick well guess what "BUSTED" lol. On the way back we got a KA hit for about 6 KM but we never saw any Leo any where. The best part of the drive my wife has always told me that the detector was a waste of money and its so dumb, but man when that guy got caught she thought it was the best thing ever and when we got the KA hit she was so hoping to see someone else get caught again and when we didn't see anything she was so sad lol

Well that's it a short 1 HR drive with 2 good catches from the STi

    Thanks
    Brandon

Thats pretty cool that you wife now sees the value of having a good radar detector. You weren't even speeding that fast, yet the ticket would have been yours if you didn't have that STi.

Its funny how people think its stupid or a waste of money, but when it picks up a LEO they quickly admit WOW That thing is Cool!

That bug has bitten my G-friend hard. She lives only about 3-4 miles from the school but she cant do without using the 9500ix for the drive.

I agree everybody at my work thinks, that it is a waste of money and says it works. I even have this manerger who has alot of cops friends and tells me those things dont work, I know cause I have lots of cop friends. I swear one of these days Iam going to take them and bring them in my car and go driving for hours looking for cops and prove to then that they are Wrong and that it does work.

I think the perception that Radar detectors dont work is due to the Cobra being the most popular unit on the road... If Cobra is the standard than I guess there right, Radar detectors dont work lol

^^ That is exactly why I hate Cobra. They do the industry more harm than good.

I would much prefer that cops think that RDs do not work! That way less effort and money will be spent trying to defeat them. Would you rather see more 35.5 Ka and POP radar being used? I think not.

My biggest gripe against Cobras are that they pollute the airwaves!

I dont think cops really think radar detectors are ineffective. I think they know they work very well hence so much instant-on usage nationwide.

Good save, I use my STi daily on my drive into work. Metro Toronto cops all have Ka guns in their cars, OPP use K. The best is when they run laser traps while forgetting to turn off the radar.

I was going to visit a friend in Mississauga, and as soon as I got on the 403 from the 401, there was a K band alert at 2 strength, then 4 strength and I slowed down. Of course the OPP cruiser was parked in the median with the handheld gun pointed out the window. I only noticed him after the strength jumped to 9

Yeah but look around you still dont see many car windows with a radar detector hanging from them. thats why cops think they own us all......
