Just figured i may share
just got out of chat with beltronics support, all those 600$ sti-r's will end up being unathorized sellers.......so no warrenty
the only discounted authorized reseller i found was crutchfield, at 799$, and that would include full warrenty
something to keep in mind if you were wishing to purchase one :)
There is an unauthorized sellers list at the bottom of the main home page of Beltronics. I would recommend looking there first.Quote:

The problem is... if at the time you make the purchase, the seller is authorized (not on the banned list), but then 6 months later for whatever reason you need warranty support, but then the seller ais on the list at THAT time, what can you do?Quote:

With that said, I have printed out my receipt, the list of unauthorized dealers at the time of my purchase, and two Beltronics chats in which the representatives confirmed that my purchase would be covered under warranty. If push comes to shove, I'll at least have a good start.
I think that is a good move, especially for items like the STi-R which Bel is obviously trying to cover up now for some odd reason... despite the fact it is THE BEST detector for us advanced users, and worth the premium.Quote:

I'll print out that "unauthorized/banned" list too, so they can't sneak in additions to the page without people seeing.
So any update, as to why they are dropping it??? Is Blinder Guy an authorized seller of the STi-R (not to put anyone on the spot).
If they close up Beltronic, are the warrenties done, or Passport will pick them up?
