Re: STi and Laser in Barrie, Ontario
The police cannot impound your car for having a jammer in Ontario. They can only take your car (so much for inoccent until proven guilty) if you are "stunt" driving. If you get caught I believe its the same ticket as having a RD.

They will seize your RD and Jammer, issue you a ticket. They have no power to impound your vehicle.
Motor vehicle equipped with or carrying a speed measuring warning device : Fines - Laser Detectors & Laser Jammers

I've heard that Laser Atlanta (which is what OPP uses) gets more reliable jam codes....then anything esle outhere. This has prevented me from investing in a jammer. Also i have yeat to hear from one person on here, from ontario, who is running jammers and is having good success with it (if there are any....they don't want to be known.)
I'm in Ontario and just jammed 2 cops in last 2 days. First was in town and yesterday was 401 around Burlington-Oakville as I was heading east. In both cases, no problem with cop following me up as was able to slow down and shut off jammer. Funny traffic was pretty thick on 401 yesterday with holdiay traffic coming home. I don't understand how lazer picked me up in fast lane when cars were only spread about 15 feet apart and all were doing about 120km/h in a 100km/h. Why wouldn't the OPP wait for a lone ranger rather then painting a steady stream of speeders?

The owner of LI says that he's not even going to attempt this, because the Laser Atlanta throws a jam code for just about everything.
I see where the owner is coming from, but the truth is that any cop who knows what he's doing can tell the diff between an erroneous JA-3 code, and a real one...
Just watch the group of 3 "LA showing jam code from snow, couch, road etc..." videos ; The JA-3 code shows up on the HUD for very split seconds here and there. If the LA is actually being jammed, it would show a solid JA-3 untill the jammer is disabled. (3 solid seconds at LEAST)

Drove through Barrie this morning for work. So nice to see a Barrie Traffic Officer using an Ultralyte! That's right, confirmed sighting of an Ultralyte. He was 10 ft away when I clearly saw what gun he was shooting. He didn't tag me, he hit the car behind me. I got warned by a driver coming from the opposite direction. They don't all have the new LA's. I jammed an LA last week. I think if you JTK in Ontario, you're probably safe.

I was up at the cottage last week, watching good 'ol VR news and saw them playing with their Ultralytes in a school zone on the kids' first day back to school. Cop was a tool, running across 4 lanes of traffic--I also didn't see him establish any visual tracking history (this is all from the news report I was watching)--he was just tagging every car in sight going both directions.

Your quote "Cop was a tool", was hilarious!!! As far as I'm concerned, the dumber they are up here, the better for us. I didn't know the Barrie police were using Ultralytes, but am glad they are.

I have spoken to some LEO's in the past regarding the Stalker Ka gun and they were confident that they could track 2 vehicles in close proximity of each other. With the laser guns, they said that they feel that the cars can be less than a car length in order to nail us.
I am seeing them in other locations along Mapleview and Bayview now.

Any specific locations on Bayview or Mapleview? I drive through Barrie daily for work, and would like to update my GPS with their hiding spots. The one I saw this morning was close to Essa and the 400. His car was hidden behind a building, and he was just standing by a light pole shooting everything in both directions. He didn't look like he was getting anyone though; it was kind of funny.
