That's the best way to go if you don't live in a RD banned area.:thumb2:
Re: A mounting suggestion for the STI-R
Mem-tek? Are you referring to the videos by SpeedTrapHunter?
If so, then yes. I've seen them. Another reason why I purchased the STI-R.

Not sure, maybe. But the one we're talking about he holds different shape plastic and materials in front of his antenna to show what happens sensitivity wise.

No. I didn't see that. I tried a youtube search under "mem-tek". No luck. Can you post a link or show me how to get there?
Thanks.
Re: A mounting suggestion for the STI-R

No, MEM-TEKwas an expert enthusiast on this forum. Unfortunately and mysteriously, he has disappeared from the forum and from all corners of the internet and we're not to speculate about it any more.
Since that is out of the way now, he has/had a video showing the affects of plastic on radar with a STi Driver. It uses the same antenna at your STi-R. I just can't find it and that is why I haven't posted it yet. I'll post it if I find it.

Re: A mounting suggestion for the STI-R
Well I found some posts from Mem-tek in another forum. This guy knows his stuff. He went on and on for two paragraphs the effects of plastic on a grill. Unfortunately the video was removed.
So I am definitely going to have it exposed. I attached a pic of the front end of the car with 3 yellow circles showing possible locations for the antenna. While the middle is probably the most ideal spot, does anyone have reservations to the right or left? The height would still be the same. Just a couple of feet over. Doing it this way makes the install easier without cutting.
