Always remember, there's no such thing as "free" health care. You guys in the US will be paying your 40-48 percent income tax like we do in Canada if Obama gets his way. It's a nightmare up here. But, this is Canada, the Gov't controls every aspect of your life from the cradle to the grave.

I can't wait. My friend had a kidney transplant and tried to buy health insurance in PA. He was denied for a pre existing condition.
Great system.

Be careful what you wish for....you just might get it. Once it's in, you'll never get rid of it. Let's get back to the topic here.
Re: STI Driver Seized, Ontario
Do you have to do the "behind the bumper mount" on your + wolf?

You got that right! Time for a revolution. Sorry, back on topic. Those rd laws really suck b***. As far as I'm concerned if they (law enforcement/govt.) have the right to "survey" us, we have the right to know they are.

I've got the antenna placed somewhere else, not behind the bumper. I didn't want to reduce the range on detection. It works well where it is though.

I completely agree. Unfortunately not a lot of people in Ontario agree with that sentiment.
Re: STI Driver Seized, Ontario
I used my Bel-Sti there before and drove right on by an OPP officer utilizing K band in ontario. Between Sarnia, and Woodstock. He did nothing just kept shooting K band. I passed more with others light up and nothing. I have been stopped with a cobra back in the olden days of Spectre I and II in Canada. I saw the Red Leds light up in his cruiser and bam he pulled out i knew I was not speeding I picked up his Ka band way in advance impressive for a Cobra lol. Ten seconds after I passed him he light me up. He immediatly asked me where the RD was first off. No brand name was asked for just a detector of any sort. When I passed him the crapra he handed it back and lectured me lightly that if I where you I would not use it for the rest of the drive out of the province cause there are going to be more opp looking for you down the way. I then listened and road blind for the next 20 miles lucky for me cause there was another officer using what looked to be spectre RDD right before sarnia. Now I own a spectre II RDD of my own, I sold my bel-sti and bought a redline, and also have a v1. Though, owning a Spectre II RDD I can tell you these guys are right. It does not tell you the model it merely distinguishes if one is being operated and which direction. This is only done by the use of a directional antenna by seeking out a stronger source in one direction as opposed to the next. There is no arrow, there is no brand identification like Laser Interceptor of pulse rates. Their equipment is not that sophisticated. I got lucky that night that he handed it back to me. Probably because it was a cobra and not worth keeping. As soon as he saw the plastic cobra you know he had to be laughing. :) Ahhh the old stories of before I knew all the vastness of now.

Re: STI Driver Seized, Ontario
Alpinestars, you're the one in and a million exception with the OPP. I can't believe he gave it back to you. The only thing I can think of why he handed it back to you is because you're from the US. We would have been nailed to the wall. Glad you got away.

No one asks, its now recovered by the officer as found property.
No, that is NOT what most cops do. What a ridiculous statement. I know more cops personally (including my siblings) than you have friends, not a single one of them would do that. A correct statement would be, "Most people with radar detectors speed."
I have NEVER met a RD used that doesn't speed on a regular basis, including myself.
80% of the time I do not speed, even though I have a V1 and a laser jammer. I work at a nuke plant in rural SW New Jersey. Lower Alloway Creek police just luv giving speeding tickets to the nuke workers. Ditto for the port authority and Delaware State Police when crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge to go shopping. About the only time I speed is when doing business in PA or going to New England.
