Default Blinder M-25 Mount Behind Grille?

    So i have a 07 Scion TC.

See, there is no mounting options for front mounting, but behind, i have the perfect Mounting Holes.

But, since there is some wide spread concern over performance etc with behind grill mounting, i thought i take the question up here.

Here is what the grill looks like.

Do you think the Holes are big enough to allow the performance i need?

The Blinder is limited when the heads are not behind something, you have to have them exposed

    lol, cut the mesh interesting...

Well i guess it's easy to say, but not the most wanted thing to do to a 20,000 dollar car.

While it is understandable that you wouldn't want to cut the grill, you will have just wasted your money on the Blinder if you install them behind the mesh.

Also since the Blinder heads are black I really don't think it would be that noticable if you installed them at the two bottom corners of the top grill.

You're only cutting into a $50 easily swappable plastic grill.

    ^ +1.

The car's expensive, but an aftermarket grill (or even an OEM, sourced from someone other than the stealership), shouldn't be too bad.

And honestly, cutting a $50 grill - or even a $500 grill - to insure that you don't eat a pricy speeding citation (PLUS the unknown that comes with potential increases in insurance premiums for YEARS to come).... you do the math, which is smarter?

    ---

Although there are those who say that it should be OK to mount behind the grill, I remain somewhat unconvinced - with the only exception being that if you were able to, first hand, test out such a "behind the mesh" setup via quantitative runs against a manned "testing" LIDAR setup.

Otherwise, I just wouldn't do it.

Cut the grill. I did it to my Infinity I30t. If you do a nice job, and your grill is black it is nearly unnoticeable.
