Bob, where are you getting these numbers? Do you have the URL to a public record on Laser Atlanta's profit/loss statement that's available on the web like LTI 3 years ago? Back in the day Blinder was rumored all over the board that it didn't produce jamming codes and it jammed at all distances. Since then the members of this board have proven those statements false. ...And I believe, stealth mode is an optional [software] - for additional cost - component that needs to be order specifically. IOW, LA guns don't even come standard with the capability.

and look at it like this as well. when your out driving today and at a redlight look around for just cars with radardetectors. 1 out of 25 is a guess I'll use. next look closer how many of them have them mounted correctly? what percentage do you see who have a V1 or rx-65, x50? I would consider these people to be in the know atleast a little to purchase a top 3 detector.
bring those numbers into the laser jamming world. go to walmart today and look at the grill of every car hell do it all week. you might find 1 car that has a jammer. then look is it mounted correctly?
what I'm getting at is why would a cop be worried about laser jamming when its a rare hobby to start with? why would he care to even look up stealth mode, when now its proven to get readings slower.
sure if 75% of america belonged to this forum and we had 35 million registered users posting and Roy's house made Bill Gates crib look like a trailer park the Leo's would be all about getting some stealth mode. but is this the case * sorry Roy * but no. thanks to shows like Myth Busters they will continue to think they are invincible. and that's all fine and dandy with me!

I suppose you'd play down a radar detector that didn't have X band detection too. X band is rare when considering the entire nation radar arsenals, however it is a threat in certain areas. Florida has a ton of Laser Atlanta's.Quote:

I certainly wouldn't. In fact, I was pleased to see the GoL test/report on all bands including X.
While NJ is beginning to replace their older K-55s (X-band) there is still a ton of lethal X in NJ. So for drivers in that state, it is very important!
In my home state of PA, instant-on K rules the day. I have yet to come across Ka in PA.
And yet not even reported in a recent detector shoot-out.
I wouldn't discount the entire population of NJ/PA along with the countless other states that use K heavily.
Personally, it would be interesting to see stealth mode and LA improve their market share signficantly. Their gun has great long-distance capability and their original R mode was built like a tank.
As we have seen, VEIL does especially well with that mode! :lol:
In so far as where these guys get their numbers? That question should probably be directed to them. If you find out something, I would like to hear about it. :wink:

Once Lidatek offers their stealth mode upgrade i guarantee i personally will fight for Laser atlanta lidar guns and personally teach officers how to activate stealth mode :lol: VEIL with a jammer against LA steath is a definite JTG
I can care less if it was made in the 1970's. It's whats being used that matters. Half of Florida's lidar arsenal is composed of laser atlanta's. YOu can see this on state bid contracts(public domain.)Quote:
