Laser alerts require immediate action, radar alerts usually do not. Radar alerts indicate signal strength, which for false alerts usually conveys the lack of urgency, laser alerts do not. False radar alerts can be memorized by location, false laser alerts usually cannot. I can't be cramming on the brakes for false laser alerts all the time.
This is the main reason I don't use my ZR4s. My LIs have maybe 5% of the false alerts my ZR4s do.
Re: Why is my m27 falsing?
No falses from my M27 so far. Only alerts I've gotten are from DJ's PLII.
Re: Why is my m27 falsing?
I don't believe it's a hardware issue, I bet they will easily fix it through a firmware update and now that they can just push it online it will no take time to have it go out to everyone.

Because there are jammers like the M-20's which I have that never false, and have always alerted to real threats. If for example V1 made detector's years ago that never falsed and then all the sudden the new and improved ones did, I think people would be upset.
I personally have no problem with occasional falses.. like my v1. So I would welcome the added security, but if it falses to the point I'm often on my brakes for no reason at all (not that I speed that often), I would then have a problem.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to installing my m47 (maybe tomorrow if I have time), not at all worried about falses.
Re: Why is my m27 falsing?
I've had no falses from my M27's. Even with Infinity's setting off the STi-R and V1 no falses from my Blinder.
Re: Why is my m27 falsing?
I just had the one, and I'm not sure it was a false. I just suspected it. In any event, one false a week is fine. I wouldn't want them to decrease sensitivity for THAT.
If they need to reduce sensitivity, I hope this "fix" will be released as an option that can be turned on or off by the user.

Agreed. Some users wouldn't mind the falses for the additional sensitivity, which is the boat im on.

falses from jammers are not the same as RD... falses it's becauses pulses comming from other sources matches the pulses from real European lidar guns...
It has nothing to do with sensittivity, it is in fact worse because the interferance would hinder your jamming capability...

Thanks for being one of the guinea pig testers of the Blinder M27 Sethy;)
Are we forgeting about LI's sun alert warning when it was innitially launched? I wonder if a firmware update will take care of the issue. Early releases of products always seem to have issues but eventually get fixed
Really, I hooked it up to my computer and turned it off as soon as that was possible ALSO the Sunlight Interfearance alert sounded nothing like a the jammer was going offto an actual threat.
IF the LI started the SIA alert with the alert siren than that would be an actual false. You won't win an argument with me, happy, I keep is way too real for you. :D
^ Agreed.
The LI's SIA is a warning feature, that's all - it's not a real "false-alert" (i.e. alerting to a non-enforcement-source as-if it were a true enforcement signal/threat) and it itself - the SIA - does serve a valid purpose, in letting users know of situations where the jammer's performance (all current jammers are performance-compromised when faced with such conditions) is compromised.
Besides, like cVr said, one could even disable the SIA, if one so wished.

I think sethy hit is spot-on.
We expect the jammer to be our last line of defense, and as such, it has to strike a better balance between specificity and sensitivity.
I've used the ZR3 since 2003/4 - and I've always been disappointed at how easily it falsed.
With the LPP, things got better. Not completely, but definitely significantly.
Now, with the LI, I've learned to not even react to the ZR3, until the LI's have kicked in to verify that it's a true threat.
Similarly, speed-dreams' comments, regarding the potential lack of protection that comes from "false-matching," is of absolutely TREMENDOUS tactical concern, and cannot be taken lightly.
------
Given djrams80's and other's data, I truly commend Blinder for pushing the performance of LED-based jammers to a totally new level - but I do think that there's still things to work on.
But hey, nothing's perfect! :)

Yes falses are much worse from a laser jammer. When my lidatek le30 was starting to cause some issues it falsed about once an hour for one road trip needless to say it wasn't fun at first cause I was reacting to the alerts like they were actual hits but they weren't
Jammers should only alert when Fired upon!
