well in my particular case in the CL I went from mineral oils to synthetics starting with Syntec, to RP, to Amsoil............ with the Syntec and the RP I noticed every now and then when I check the oil (I usually check at every fuel stop) that the level get lower semi quickly, and with the Amsoil so far the only oil ive lost is out the dipstick shaft when the old dipstick poped out those few times.......... but other than that I can assume that Amsoil has a higher flashpoint than the others ive tried since it isnt I guess burning off as time goes by
I prefer Amsoil over Mobil 1. The color seemed to stay "cleaner" for longer on Amsoil vs Mobil 1. I also seemed to get about 1 mpg better consistently when on Amsoil. I just switched to Royal Purple last weekend so I don't have any opinions on this brand yet.
ummm oil doesn't just burn off. Either it burns from something like a ring or seal leaking oil into the engine or leaks out from a bad seal outside of the engine. Now maybe neither one of those things is happening with your car and you just checked it under different conditions. Anyways, a little 'missing' oil doesn't matter.Quote:

they all say that, but honestly I dont trust oil in my car past like 10k or so its really picky about stuff, it eats it all alive, whether its gas, oil, or spark plugs... they get pretty dirty, pretty fast.. maybe its my driving style... but who cares
