I have a Chevy Silverado with over 217,000 miles and it still has the original alternator and I plow with it. Lifting a plow is probably one of the heaviest loads an alternator would ever experience. If that won’t kill it I don’t know how you are killing yours.
Well it could be that 1800 watt amplifier driving 42 speakers, plus 12 woofers, 72 tweeters, enough led lights that could light up the White House, DVD, Laptop, GameBoy, 84 note horn, 3 cell phones, blackberry, strawberry, blueberry..............or.........a bad ground somewhere?
have fun
****... The reason I got a second one wasnt cuz the alternator was bad, but the bearing in it seized up and wouldnt roll on the belt, hence all the squeaking before it just croaked.
Get a spare for the trip I am sure you can find a garage on the side of the road if need be
That happened to my father's 96 626. Must be a faulty design in that alternator.Quote:
