Has anyone ever shipped their car overseas?

He meant a car that would stand out in that part of the world, something that everybody over there would start turning their heads after, for instance a Hummer, of Chevy Suburban or a Ford F450 heavy duty, you got my point, an American Muscle Car, something that tells everybody this guy is a God damn PROUD American :) :wink: Other than this, to spend a ton of money in bringing a pretty ordinary and extremely European car (but built in Mexico :oops: ) to... Europe, when you can buy it or rent it easily over there, I don't know, but sounds childish to me... don't you want people to notice you're an American?

My point was that it's VERY easy to obtain a New Beetle in Europe.

If you had an unusual car, or a car that is no longer made/is not easily available used, or a car that is heavily personalized, or a very expensive car, then shipping it would make sense. But paying a LARGE portion of a car's value to ship it overseas, when you could just as easily buy one new or used in Europe, makes little sense. That's all I'm saying.

yea JDS thats good reasoning but obtaining a New Beetle in MY country costs SO MUCH more than here. For example if i were to sell my Beetle now i would get ~ 5-6K dollars here in the states. If i were to sell the same in my country i would get OVER 10,000 Euros - which obviously stronger currency plus. So my plan was to see if shipping it there would be worth it and leaving it there for a future car i can use rather than buying a used car there. Plus it would be a very cool car to drive there.

But with the looks of it, it will still be expensive and too much of a hassle to deal with it, so, i need to seek alternatives.
