I'm not sure if the RX8 is crap or not. It's considered one of the best handling cars in the world. But if your looking to drag race it, drive it over 100k miles or try and re-sell it then yes. It's crap.

I really know nothing about painting...are we talking about Sherwin Williams house paint?
Also, I think that to pull this off correctly, you MUST have all-black wheels. Even silver lips ruin it, and those gold centers on the RX-8 are just completely ugly.
Anyone else see this as the latest trendy thing to do, kind of like the avacado green appliances of yesteryear?

who the fawk said that?! what had they driven before? semi trucks and new toyotas?!
i've driven an rx8; it felt nimble but needed a lot more power and less traction control. my beater honda is more fun to drive (tho it runs mid 12s and has a full aftermarket suspension :P)
It's been on C/Ds ten best three times, Wheels elected it twice. Top Gear called it one of the best handling cars they've ever tested and it was given a Golden Icon award for best sports car. It won all these awards for superior handling. Because it certainly wasn't going to win them for superior power or efficiency.
Although power is a significant element to good handling it's not the main component or even the most important. Unless your drag racing, which your use of the term "mid 12s" tells me your in to. But I'm not into drag racing. In fact I would say it is my least favorite motor sport.

The reason the RX-8 has such good handling is because it has a rotary engine. The weight ratio between the front and rear is nearly 50-50. This goes for all the RX-7 gens too.
Or you could get an RX-7 and have the same handling(probably even better) and lots of power at the same time! (Yes...this is in another thread lol)
