Ya I was figuring the torx bit screws on the bottom probably had to come out darn it was hoping they just fastened the printed circuitry to the bottom part like the Vascar darn it. Oh well i'll have to go out to the shop in the morning and tromp through the snow drifts and get the torx bit's "Thanks" VR I mean you really didn't have to make it that secure you know Mr. Valentine. LOL It's only a remote display for a rd? It's not like it's going anywhere ya know...
Anyhow thanks Rebinc. Well I know the number 1206 i membered that, I just couldn't figure out the wattage of the bulb and the diameter needed for swapping them out, this is my first time tinkering with it figured it'd be a project and give me something to do in my "Spare" time.

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
List price on the RMR-C450 is typically around 259.00 dollars. ALthough it's not worth any of the pennies involved as you've now seen LOL. Neither is Kat, which is a nock off of RMR, the owner actually had to change the name because too many people where after them and sueing. So he changed the name to KAT Kick As$ Technology is what he calls it LOL??
It sure looked kick As$ in that video  HAHA..
As for the Sti Vid ya, that day with sasquatch was definetly a day to remember . Me and Sasquatch still discuss the hits of that day once in awhile.
I've got one of those C-450's laying around somewhere.. I'll have to bring it down with me along with the TruSPeed when i get down your way. LOL it's the big brother to the Phazer II and is built on the same "Lack of technology."
So it "Supposedly jams x,k,ka, lidar. Although this couldn't be further from the truth, just as it's lack of detection range as you saw.
And if I don't recall 100 percent correct me if i'm wrong Roy but didn't you file suit against them as well with The BBB? Beter buisness bureu? What ever happened to that Radar Roy? Just curious if your out there reading this what happened? Or perhaps if anyone else knows? last time i heard Roy and well over 100 others had suits against RMR. I'm suprised they are still in business even as KAT?? Outrun has some really great funny video's of asking them to take their new Kat Jammer outside with one of Blinders Stalker LZ1's and put it to the test if they where willing to let them take it outside. Ofcourse for obvious reasons Kat declines in his videos and claim's it works as usual LOL BIG LOL.
Which as you've seen it is a complete and utter joke.
Hence at most testing events the joke is, "Ya, that guy's Phazer II must be really working." LOL.. although the joke is because normally thats not the jammer in use when the joke is cracked, i think it was aoshi or languy or jim that cracked it this year when we where testing blinder... :).. Too funny.

Haha yall were having a great time, that would have been so fun and the whole video I was laughing and thinking in my mind pass them pass them pass them and didn't think you guys were going to .. but when you did you should have seen me in tears after seeing those people in the car acting like nothing was going on but they just got passed by a semi! The look on my face was probably priceless!

I know I had a blast :D. Can't speak for everybody though.
Ya, looking back i wanted to cut how long it took us to finally get around the old man out. Although between the tension and the lyrics for the song get out the way, just made that part so laughable, i couldn't help but build some tension for the pass and leave it in there. I wasn't expecting that Leo shooting Ka on the way home though! Thank goodness for citizens band/ IE Cb that saved me against him. Cause pretty much you saw the hight of what V1 gave me in that situation . It wasn't much at all. Not anything bragable. Although Thats off axis 35.5Ghz for you, with that freq off axis i'm noticing you get what you get... As far as him sleeping he truely was laying in his seat sleeping I was like WTF i slowed down, and your sleeping . LOL.. Typical.
As for the invite ya we had a ton of fun. And we had quite a few more people there this year than we have in the past. I'm looking forward to next years testing already. And too boot some more of that fish GTO_04 rereading some of this thread today has me hungry again too thinking about that fish GTO. :p
Also YTCD, i've been looking at maybe getting an STi-R... not sure yet though. I'm debating it. :)

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
After seeing this thread, is it normal for the V1.7 to be so good on 35.5? I have been warned that it's no good on 35.5, but I see here it did fine, I just happen to have just gotten a 2.690. The other night I had a Trooper in front of me shooting oncoming traffic and he was about a mile ahead and I was getting his I/O blasts.
Just to be sure, I turned it off and fired up my X50, and it was showing 35.512.
-
Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
I am not sure how normal that is. Michael B did a lab test of a 1.7 and it was 10db less sensitive than the 1.8 models that he tested. My 1.7 is very good but maybe it is a factory freak. I have had it tuned up a few times also.
I'll be keeping my 1.7. It's a classic. No temperature compensation issues with it either as on some of the newer models.

I bought this one just to sell, but it's performance is absolutely outstanding. I have never been more impressed with a V1.7. It may be a keeper.

It's a great testing Location, zero falses very Sparse traffic decent test run location for testing actual transmit distance via miles per unit. Although Not a "HOLE lot of parking area? :( Other than that it was fun.
Me and Languy put some things up to the test there the other day and it worked great :D. Although for a bigger event like next year is going to be, we need more parking area than what was provided, :(. Languy do you have any idea's to combat this issue?

Give me some time and I will see what I can come up with. We might even change the road. Let me look into it some more.
Also yeah it was fun, I deiced to build some brackets and bring out the heads about 3/4" father out. I was thinking that maybe I was getting punch through because they are tucked too far back. But I will have to wait for a warmer day to do it.
Also those rear punches on the LI was pretty interesting, weren't they......;)

Languy, I still have Chandler rd on my list so I can check it out too. And if you are having any problems w/ that Pro 58 since "all" rds have the opportunity to fall out of tune, please let me know so we can get it a simple "retune". Not a lot of work you know.

ok i'll let you know, I think my dad might want to get a 695 and i think he needs too also.

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
So have him get the 695 and we will send in the Pro 58 for a tuneup. Simple fix Languy. BTW, my Pro 78 is on it's way back to me as we speak. It should be here either tomorrow or Saturday so yet more testing needs to be done.

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
Ya, maybe next time Languy we should put results to a Real test where they belong though, since your miraclous PT occured when a big gob of Roadgrime and Salt was covering the Transmitter side of the head this might of had just a little something to do with your "Questionable" results on the LI.
As far as other things that where bogus with that test. The heads need to be reinstalled, and where Very off as to level when it came to Side to Side level, infact Languy, the Bubble wasn't even inside the Lines. So the Legimacy of that test? Well, thats utterly Beyond debateable. It is not healthy to go by winter testing results my friend. There are "FAR" too many variables, and not enough Controls to call it anything near scientific enough. BTW As far as I was aware I JFG'd you the first run before I started tinkering with my heads "WHICH" I shouldn't have done on the spot. That has been proven even with Blinder LJ's don't beleive me watch Outrun's videos he tryed to do this same very thing once level the head's on sight and Totally messed up everything he did at home on a Level Cement pad. Which is where they should be leveled not on the Sholder of a Highway with two tires on the roadway and the other two on the pavement. This is not legitiment.
So thus neither are those results. And Languy, this is why I didn't attempt to level them again and freeze my hands off before I went home, you saw me say why bother. Because I knew no matter where I opted to Attempt to be level that it wouldn't ever be Right enough to make them Legitly level.
Also lastly as far as I was aware you stated to me that day you didn't get actual PT, you indicated you may have had a range but no speed. So that means absolutely nothing also. Kinda hard to give a ticket on range alone.

I got punch through on the last runs when we were using the PL2, it was the last runs of the night. When that happened I got lock 4 times. Once you get those head level there should be no problems. :p

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
Yeah, PT happens every now and then but it is NO BIG DEAL. It's what you call a laser jammer. When leveling out laser jamming diodes, it does help if you have a flat surface but let's also keep in mind, not everybody lives on a paved road so this may not be an option unless a garage is near and is available. As long as we have COMPLETELY UNBIASED TESTING where a person firing the lidar gun knows that Alpine and I do not support BIAS Languy, that's what matters. Another + for COMPLETE UNBIASED TESTING AND ENJOYMENT:):):):cool::cool:;).

Yeah, I am not biased when I shoot someone with a laser gun. I try to do my best to get a good reading, nothing more nothing less.

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
Keep us informed, I am very interested if my schedule permits.
-
Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
Yes the Alpine- Invatational is still on, Thus far. So far so good. We still need a no hold's barred testing location. Talk/banter has been made of possibly asking Mr. Bonzzz of a more suitable testing site around the Brighton area, that has more ample parking, and also less prone to harmfull interference, as well as more convient for someone from out of state. This way we don't loose one another as not everyone on this forum has gps unfortunatly.
This has been the inside talk about this years invite. No word's have ever been spoken about cancelling the invite. We are currently looking around the 21st of June as it is Summer solstice which would be the longest day of the year. Which will mean more daylight, and more testing for us enthusist's. We have decided to go with a "two day event." Lidar day Two and Radar day one. There is far too much testing to complete in one day. We have decided on Sat, Sun Event. The actual dates are listed back in this thread. I am currently at the Lib. So I can't access a calander. Although i do beleive it is the weekend before the 21st since the 21st doesnt' fall on a weekend entirely. So like the 19th or 20th i do beleive. If you need the forsure dates look back in this thread :).
Thanks all Hope to see you at the test this summer :).
And to all the newcomers interested welcome :).

Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
I also have a guy down in Battle Creek looking for something down in that area. I guess we all need to keep our eyes open for a testing site that has ample parking, long straight away of at least 3-4 miles, and an area that is NOT prone to a lot of LEOS. Maybe it's possible, maybe it's not.
-
Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
Just keep it south MI (preferably southwest) and I will be there for Sunday at least.
-

Yeah something like that would be pretty hard to find near me, for that long of a course you would have better luck up north....
-
Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
There are a ton of straight courses to the south of Lansing and parks also. I will keep a look out myself and I never see leo's out there, usually the only time I see them is inside the park.
-
Re: AlPiNe Up NOrth InVaTaTiOnal 08' Scheduled for Nov 15th 2008
In my drives around, I will keep my eyes open for something also. I know a long road up north (M-82, Newaygo county) between I-131 and M-37 but there are LEOS that patrol that stretch of road which sucks.
