Thanks for the report. Personally I enjoyed it, and found it very well done.
You put a lot of time and effort into this and I for one appreciate it!
Perhaps if some of our members would invest their time into seeing the "positive" rather than looking for "hidden agendas" what a wonderful world it would be..... :wink:.......Again Thanks for your efforts. :lol:
Well TEAM, I will keep this as brief as possible:
1. This report was very informative for us all; the haves and the have nots. I would venture to say there is not one member of this forum who did not learn something new about the capabilities of their RD (of the 3 {4}). And for the people who do not have an RD yet, it will certainly help them with making an informed decision.
2. If anyone thinks The Veil Guy went out to do this as a promotional gimic to sell "VEIL" I hate to say you are sadly missing the point and mistaken. This man took his wife out on the road (and they renewed their wedding vows enroute? who would do such a thing?) who helped him log some of the info. Now how many of you out there would do such for the general public? He also provided info on other tourist locations (for those who may be so inclined). Do you think he's getting $$$ endorsements from them?
3. The report covered a wide span of terrain and highway miles with a great deal of info on where speed traps were encountered. That alone is worth the report. Maybe some of you already new these hotspots and maybe some of us didn't. It also gave much insight as to what the threats are out there. Don't get caught snoozin'.
4. The unavoidable 'spacing' issue still gave coverage of how one RD may affect another and how they actually "get along". So it leads one to have a better satisfaction in knowing that your RD will not (or should not) get a false alert from the other (cheaper brands excluded).
And lastly, this has been an experience. While I was reading this I was actually picturing the setups of the encounters you had with all the different alerts. That most of all kept the report exciting and very interesting. Your 'favoritism' to the V1 ( 1.7 or 1.8 ) is very understandable, being that is what you have had for so long and have grown aclimated to. But I saw nowhere in this report where you shot holes in the ability of either/or. I was surprised at your closing "preferred choice, and I am happier in the choice I've made (and still would be with the X50 or a V1). Either/Or I am better informed of the capabilities of ALL 3 (4).

We are going to be making another trip out West again in June/July of '05 and will take these companions along for the ride again or any updated versions of them.
Is there enough interest for more [of these] driving experiences? We have been considering making this a series every year to reflect any updated equipment and our new/different speedtrap experiences.
Other than the work [it takes] to compile the data and prepare a written report, it was really enjoyable to do - especially the driving part!

I'll give a fairly good report (don't expect pics or vids), but the location will be all NC HWY and city. Just need to get a dual pwr adapter.Quote:
