Keep the V1, since it'll still be working in 10 years, and you can get it upgraded to be the top 1 or 2 when technology changes, and Belscort users need all new units.

one word.
arrows.
:D
I drove to Lubbock, Texas and saw 9 Troopers with stalker Ka guns. V1 owned them. I was being stupid and never did the trip odo on the alerts, but will attempt to get some ranges on the drive home tomorrow morning, as I am writing this from my cousin's apartment.
There was one particular alert that subsided my fears of Ka inadequacy. Ka with one LED lit for about 30 seconds, no lie. I was near Snyder, Texas with a lot of shallow hills and such, there really isnt much of a viewing distance. Lo and behold the V1 jumps to around 4 or LEDs for about 10 seconds and as Im watching oncoming traffic, a Trooper tops the hill and V1 jumps to full alert. Pretty impressive. But its not over yet. I didnt see him but, he must have turned around in the median because I was getting intermittent weak alerts with one bogey pointing behind (love these arrows) every time I crested a hill. This lasted for about a minute or two due to his speed probably being close to mine, around 74 or 75 in a 70. My exit was coming up so I slowed down considerably to see if he really was back there. I turned onto US 84 from I20 westbound, and slowed to 60. No traffic so I was okay. Sure enough here he comes back westbound on I 20 and passes my exit and keeps on trucking west. Very cool.
nope :twisted:Quote:

I found out...the 985 was happy with a passport 4200 mounted in the rear bumper..way low. I used soder and put a speaker and a few leds in the dash for remote mounting. I did extensive testing to be sure they where not fighting each other..and they wernt. The 4200 happens to be very good in KA and laser, but suxs in all other. But who cares with a 985 demon high in the frt window? BTW, the 4200 also happens to be VERY non leaky. In fact, they made it just before Mike quit escort. Maybe he designed it. Anyway...it did help me to determine without thinking too hard...or long...where the radar was slamming me. Well, after using this setup for a while I realized that KA band hitting you from the rear your range suxs unless you have a rear facing horn. So bad that if the leo is hitting you from the rear, you might as well have a new cobra. (which suxs) Bottom line...if the leo CAN clock you from the rear...(which he can nowadays) YOU NEED A REAR POINTING HORN. Now I realize that its very hard for a leo to clock you that way...dont forget...he has the ability to clock you with his speedo. He can estimate your speed and ticket you.
