Veil Guy's Review of the Escort Passport 9500i

This thing is amazing! I've already had it for about 2 weeks. (I work at Best Buy) and it is a night and day difference from my 8500 X50. The fact that you can share your false alerts and known speed traps using the USB port was what really made me want it. I did some searching and already found a site that is dedicated to creating and sharing these profiles.

Even at $450, this this is well worth the money!

Thanks for the review. I am seriously considering picking one of these up to try against my V1. There are quite a few falses around my house that really get under my skin from the V1 picking them up every day to- and from work.

I would buy a 9500i today except that there is a lack of information on whether or not this capability will be available and just when. The key things I want to be able to do via the USB port are:

• - upload my own GPS information on the location of threats etc; and
  - update the firmware.

I would not expect these capabilities to necessarily be free, and I would happily pay a reasonable sum to be able to get good software to do this. But I'm afraid that the capability may yet be a long way off. I would, however, be very happy to be proven wrong.
