Agreed. Question to other 9500i owners. Is the only mode that it will say "multiple alerts detected" on Expert?

I had wondered the same thing that MEM-TEK is proposing.
But if it were true, Escort Marketing would be all over it marketing it as a new feature.
It's interesting Escort is willing to "Fix it" with new firmware. Are they disabling this feature or fixing a bug. If they indeed have fixed it in firmware why are they still shipping units with "the bug".
If MEM-TEK is correct, I'd like to see an option to enable it or not.
What's being mixed up a little here is the initial audio alert (no matter how weak) is loud at first. That's plenty to get my attention.
It doesn't make it any more effective to have the "second alert" be slightly faster or blasting. You know your approaching a risk either way.
After owning the detector for a while you don't know your processing the signal (taking the derivative if you will) and now it's sort of doing the derivative for you (according to MEM-TEK's theory) by design or by bug.
With this Feature or Bug, your brain is just confused and reads it as an inconsistency (especially if you've owned Escorts for many years). I think that's why it bothers people.
If it is a feature, it should be explained by Escort and allow the option to defeat it.
Look forward to MEM-TEK's further testing.
P.S. HAs anyone tried disabling other features like Auto HighWay/City etc. to see how the ramp up is effected?
I have felt the very same way as you. I have found no difference in alert ramp ups in H,C or A.
I don’t believe Escort is shipping units with the ramp up "Bug" anymore, it’s just that there is some original ramp up stock left, especially at retail stores. My guess is something like 3907 and higher are fine. Or after Nov 1st.
