I don't believe this assumption to be true. My unit did not have this 1/10th of a mile radius limitation that is claimed to be fact. When I had my 9500i the radius was as long as the locked out radar was detected and that could be well over a 1/4 mile.

I mean are you telling me that if you lock out a signal that has a radius greater than 1/10th of a mile the locked out signal re-alerts. I don't think so. This 1/10th of a mile is some made up radius with zero substantiation. I don't buy it. Sorry.

Those videos provide all the proof and I experienced it personally. Believe them, don't want to believe them, whatever.

I'm not bashing. I'm just telling everyone what happened to me and it is up to each person to determine who on this board has credibility or not.

I always tell people to try a radar detector for themselves. Then, and only then, will they know what works best for them.

I think MEM-TEK is on to something about the Truelock radius. He explains this very well on page 2 of this thread. Basically, it looks like the signal strength determines the size of the Truelock radius.

I find it interesting how all the videos that show TrueLock fail but I have yet to see any that substantiate it works as advertised. Not even Escort's video is believable.

Maybe the new units work differently then mine (when I had it). I'd like to see a video that clearly proves it. Still waiting over a year to see one.

I'll gladly drop this topic but not as long as there are those that want to make up facts or suppress facts regarding TrueLock.

I actually think that everyone agrees that it does work as advertised. The advertisement says right in it that the police signal is different than the store signal. I mean, if the LEO is running Ka band in the same spot as a K band door, we all agree that the 9500i will alert. The only thing we really disagree on is what happens when the frequencies are too close together.

You forgot to put my name in the list too. I stand by it and would 2nd the rest who stated their is a flaw with the 9500i's truelock.

Escort's animated video is half full and half empty. It will always lockout the other source when frequency is the same or very close due to the technology being used based on expert mode.

So basically TrueLock is flawed according to certain members that are respected and it works perfectly according to certain members that are delusional.

This really depends on which part of the issue you are talking about JAZZY. The flaw is minor when using the TrueLock feature when you abide with the rules and a good rule to follow is CJR's sticky posted in this section.

Sorry for the poor quality but all i had was my cell phone (Escort states the 1/10mi lock out radius on there web sight):

Video showing locking out of K 24.150 speed sign signal... than alert/spinning icon for less than 1/10mi for that false... than 1/10mi with no radar... than a new radar speed sign ruining K 24.150 and alerting: YouTube - 9500I truelock 24.150 1/10mi

The lock out radius is accumulative to some extent and 9 time out of 10 most falses are less than 2/10mi.
