This is of course true, but the root cause of this is a RD that "cries wolf" all the time. When either of my 9500's alerts, I listen. Truelock removes this complacency.

^ I think that's a different way of looking at it.....or rather, that it requires fundamentally different thinking, when you're using an "instrument of war" like the V1, instead.
I think that with the V1, you can't really say it's "crying wolf." It's simply reporting all that it sees (or thinks it sees).
It's not really lying to you - it's just flooding you with information.
And as the end gatekeeper, you've got to make the proper tactical assessments.
Florida Red Light Cameras Map:driver:
Well, looks like there are RLC's in Florida, though it depends on your area... great site BPFLOYD. The fact is: They are becoming more and more common (like laser) as time goes on.
I'm 17 and have the 9500ix. You'll like the 9500i. It is a quality radar detector with excellent sensitivity and minimal falses. :)
I have been considering a better more potent radar detector than the RX65, I thought the new GX65 would be the way to go. The more posts I read , I'm think'in that the 9500ix would be the way to go.
Whistler1:D
Well the GX65 is not the way to go for a GPS enabled detector because the reason I have stated many times and recently has been proven. Though Beltronics and Escort are the same company Beltronics is not up to date with everything. Escort is a much better company in terms of Customer service, Reliability, Products, Updates (Key), speedyness (with everything even emails), etc.
Beltronics just falls behind, I knew this would happen and it is much apperent with the GX65.
But whistler, what do you mean by a more potent radar detector. Your not going to get more performance, and all you'll be purchasing is the GPS capabilites. Which are worth it but not when you have a RX-65 and your not getting any other benifits.
Honestly, save up for a good Laser Jammer or what I would do get the 9500ci. Honestly Im having more and more faith in the 9500ci. I reccommend it to anybody now because its everything that you possibly could want in a detector.
Every time I see a video that if it wasn't for the sensitivity of the ci the person would have gotten a ticket it makes me more and more a firm believer in it. Yes you don't have arrows but w/e, I'd much rather be saved from an I/O attack than have arrows.
And the 9500ci and STI-R are the only detectors that I feel can give you the closest to 100% reliabilty in all situations.
I mean think about it, all the detectors currently besides the STI and CI are out-of-date, the Radar Manufacture's and Law Enforcement officers have caught up with us. Especially with the use of I/O and the use of the Kustom Golden Eagle 35.5 radar band that utilizes the narrow radar beam and the new low powered 34.7 Stalker. 35.5 utilized with CHP off-ramp tactic is deadly straight deadly and the V1 is the only handheld that can be even close to some protection and in some situations your looking at a 1-2 second alert maybe.
The detectors need more raw detection but is not possible because it will be like the Valentine 1 but worse in the city. Escorts GPS technology fixed this and is using it pretty damn well.
^ +1.
I'd once e-mailed a reference from Photoenforced over to Ally (at Cheetah/Trinity) - turns out that it (the Photoenforced data)was very out-dated.
true. since owning a V1 during my 30day trial I can confirm the chatter can make you oblivious at times. especially if you're using a muted volume.
I love both detectors though for their own reasons, but this post is making pushing me back towards the Escort side. I cant decide!
