Default Does the lockout feature work any better now?

Back when the 9500 first came out I remember the only reason I went with the V1 over it was because the lockout didn't seem to be working too well for many people. Has it been fixed/improved at all since then?

It always worked, just the understanding of how it worked needed some time. There are certain guide lines you need to follow to make TrueLock work best for you, if at all.
Read my thread/sticky below on the 9500I and TrueLock, all the answers needed should be there.

Yes, it's called AutoLearn now available on the 9500ix and it's night and day in my opinion.

It basically CONSTANTLY maintains a database of stationary radar (radar that does not change position or frequenc, within reason, over time) and locks that out automatically. If one day it sees it not there it Unlocks it. Occassionally this can be a problem of irractic falses but overall it works great.

It also does a "Quiet Alert" (two short beeps) under 20mph.

It also includes a database of Redlight Cameras and alerts you when you get near them.

Just a quick question, what happens when you pass a locked out area at night when the door openers are turned off? Does it unlock it then? How many times would you have to drive by the area before it unlocks? I'm assuming that it doesn't unlock the first time by. That would be a pain in the ass.

    Exactly.

Using CJR's scenarios, I've locked out K-band falses in areas which are "High Risk," where enforcers do use K-band, on my 9500i.

I did so simply because I drive through these areas each and every day, and the falsing just drives me nuts. At the same time, I *never* speed through these areas, so I never really worry about potential signal overlaps.

In several instances, I've had the 9500i warn of the additional enforcement action.

    In others, not so.

But does the latter mean that TrueLock does not work?

    No.

It simply means that the scenario present had exceeded TrueLock's technical capabilities to "resolve" the additional signal.

And furthermore, I made the choice to perform the lock-out in an area where I know it to be of extremely "High Risk."

Any detector - V1, 9500, STi - is just a tool. Learn how to use the tool properly.

It does not unlock it with one pass, that's for sure. I couldn't figure out what it took to unlock a false alert and gave up.

Good Question. I'm glad it doesn't remove it on first pass.
