anyone ever use voltage display to confirm an electrical problem?

I was driving tonight and thought my alternator or battery may be going since my headlights were dramatically dimmer than normal. I was realizing this would've been one of the few times I'd have use for the voltage display...but it turned out they were just caked with dried road salt from the storms up here.

It made me wonder though if any of you guys ever used the 9500 series voltage display for purposes like this.

There was a thread earlier when someone used it to determine they had hardwired it correctly. Their mutlimeter kept saying 6 volts, but the RD worked fine. Used voltage mode to confirm it was getting 12 volts.

I bought it for my truck which I drive weekdays in Metro Atlanta. It was very quiet but really lacked in laser sensativity. At the time I did not have jammers on the truck so I stayed with the V1. I have since added the Blinder M45 to the truck and gave the V1 to a friend. I am replacing the V1 with the STi-R because I really love the ci I installed on the Vette.

If the jammers had been on the truck when I was trying the ix I would have kept it. It's as good as the V1 against radar, but lacks the lidar sensativity.

I tend to think they're very close on radar sensitivity too.
Just lacking the arrows...and maybe a little off axis detection as well

Yes i have. The alternator in my car was going and the low voltage condition showed up on the rd. It was a great help to get my car fixed before it totally conked out on the highway.

I switched to voltage mode on my X50 last week to confirm that my car battery was finally dead.
