lol, i wish i could get Escort to just to at least add in the manual instead of my whole faq:
"When using TrueLock & AutoLearn treat the lock out area as a muted area and proceed with caution"
I have had many conversations with some of Escort's higher ups, and they seem to have a complete understanding of the risks using TrueLock. But i feel they think the risks are small enough for the average user that its negligible in the end.
I just think its funny that some people think TrueLock is some magical be all end all, but they are members here and don't bother to read my sticky faq.
agree 100%!!!!!!!

^ What he said. :)
People really have got to realize that there's no such thing as being "the average consumer." That's, like, electing to be ignorant.
They've got to educate themselves about all the products that they own - particularly with RADAR/LASER countermeasures, I can't believe how many people, "automotive/driving enthusiasts," that is, continue to think that they are some kind of magical "cop detectors," and continue to be surprised/angered when, supposedly, their detectors "failed."
Re: escort 9500ix truelock got me a ticket
Been using bel/escort for 5 years and love it. Truelock is an amazing feature for dead silent driving. Beening running the 9500ci with v1 for 1 month now and I know for a fact that 1 Leo in my area runs constant k band that the 9500 ci always lock out. Because of this, I'm looking to part my 9500ci for v1+ li + cheetah for the best radar/lidar/camera/ silent detection. If fl ever outlaw radar, than I'll to back to the 9500ci. Oh, having arrows really does owns regardless of what escort fan boys say. This is from a person owning escort for over half a decade
Re: escort 9500ix truelock got me a ticket
I still say having the V1 and 9500ci combo is the ultimate believe the 9500ci has the raw sensitivity to pick up that weak I/O shot the V1 may miss and the V1 will never lockout a true threat. They compliment each other and are a must together in my opinion.
I run my V1 in little "L" mode with pop off, x band off and heavy K band muting (30 seconds, un-mute at 4 bars). This makes the V1 very quiet, but always on patrol to pick up that signal the 9500ix may be missing due to me being in a lock out zone.
Re: escort 9500ix truelock got me a ticket
Really ..... because I have the 9500 on my CL63 . Has anyone contacted Escort, if so what did they say?
Re: escort 9500ix truelock got me a ticket
I have and none of the reps I spoke with seemed to have a clue ......... Some said they were aware of the issues and some said that was new to them
Re: escort 9500ix truelock got me a ticket
It's amazing to see peope including myself cough up 1,600 for the 9500ci and 400 for the v1 since both out right owns detection. I bought the v1 for my second car to pair it up with li as a primary travel car but wanted to run both v1 and 9500ci just to compare only to find out truelock does fail in the perfect situation. It's too hard to justify hAving a 9500ci and v1 together for 2,000 as a primary ride only. Than again, some of us role with cb radio and cameras on the dash.oh gosh, I need to stop before I too have a camera.

Aren't the 9500ci and the STi-R about equal in sensitivity? If so, It seems that the STi-R would be the better choice. With the $500 bucks you save, you could get a V1 and still have money left over to put towards a Cheetah.
Have there been any good tests of the STi-R and the 9500ci side by side?

I certainly would not want to deal with an STi-R here in LA. The racket would be unbearable. I'd say it depends where you live.

Not that I've seen, but the radar detection internals are identical. I'd bet any sensitivity differences would be due to manufacturer's variance more than anything else.

Oh, definitely. Once Cheetah gets an interface up for the STi-R, it will be an unbeatable combo for $100 bucks less than the 9500ci.

That's what I have been led to believe too. Thanks.
