escort passport 7500

Hey guys. I have an opportunity to get an escort passport 7500 at a great price. My question is this:

Does anyone have this? I've heard there are some issues with the KA band. is this true? I really need a radar and I know escort is a great company.

It would have been ok few years ago, but for today's threats I'd recommend something newer.

what exactly isn't good about it anymore? (i'm really curious). I know that there is something called Digital KA that could maybe get past it.

I mean honestly, as long as it works, that's all I need. I don't need to detect a cop from 3 miles away... as long as I have enough time to slow down it's really all i need (I don't race or anything like that...just speed a lot)

How good is a good deal you can get a refurb 8500 for $150 from escorts eBay site it is a great detector the 7500 is old not worth it in my opinion

I've got a 7500... $125 spent on a BEL 940 would be a superior strategy. The 7500 is really showing its age in terms of lack of sensitivity at this point in time.

I've talked to a guy that will sell me the 7500 for 60 dollars (it's missing the mounting bracket).

I used to have a high end cobra that worked fine. Stopped using it, and then recently wanted to start using it again and it was broken (probably broke in a move..)

don't get me wrong. i'd LOVE to have an 8500... i just don't know if i can afford it right now.

for 90 more bucks you get a great detector with a warrenty and all needed pieces for it to mount and power up

true. i guess I'll have to think about it. I know it will pay for itself... I do a lot of driving and I really cannot afford to get tickets anymore (I already can't drive in wiscionsin for a few more months because of tickets I got a little while ago..)
