For me it acts "surprised" in audible ramp up but i don't see the LEO till i round the bend. My 8500 S7 alerts at about the same time but ramp up is more linear.
On Ka, both. Just this week I came around a corner on my way to work and saw the tail end the LEO's car just as my ix (and me) freaked out. On that same stretch of road, with similar encounters, my V1 "clears it's throat" and I am on the brakes before I see the LEO. By the time the V1 "freaks" I am already looking for the LEO.
That's the off-axis detection I want.
Don't get me wrong, I have got around the curve alerts from my ix, but it's not consistent like the V1.
That's why the new M3 Redline should have had GPS. I would have pre-ordered it.
