Guys, I'm new to this forum and all of you are whiz kids with this stuff.
I watched the videos and saw Detector vs. Detector. There was so much beeping and or static going on I never could figure out what the results were when measuring Gun vs. Detector when I watched gun vs detector video. Who caught whom first and by what distance or time? (maybe I just don't know what to watch or listen for)
I was confused too. They tested one detector at a time with and open cell phone in walkie talkie mode. That way the shooter could instantly hear when his trigger was detected. For Q/T test that's the only video that matters.
For C/O Tests there were a few comments by the driver on the detector side videos of when other detectors detected C/O. But a few "Bubble messages" added to the Last run video on each frequency of when each detector detected would be really helpful.
Received my unit Monday the 21st as well.
The mount if the same (or very similar) as my 9500iX, My V-1 definitely has a nicer mount than the Escort Redline or iX.
I have serial # 93 and my unit also came out "tacky" as if just painted or "wet." The weight is about the same or a lil more than my V-1.
As far as peformance, the off-axis (indirect hits) are as good, but I can't say better, than my two v-1s. I got Lasered in Buffalo Grove today with an Ultralyte and the Redline got it first, about 1 second before the V-1 (which I didnt understand until I realized that the officer was scanning the front of my car and probably hit the redline first). There is no front plate so he was probably going for the headlights.
Ka is better on the Redline on direct hits on the tollway (these were not instant- on hits) but running radar hits where the LEO was coming toward me from the opposite direction. The V-1 was about 2 seconds later to pick it up. Haven't tested X since we don't have it here like Ohio, so I cant comment on that. I have the units about 4 feet apart on a SUV and don't believe they are interfering with each other, BUT who knows??
Overall, I'd have to say that after two days of "informal" testing (cant wait for the GOL guys to do a test) , the Redline was /is better on continuous running Ka, off axis is about the same as V-1 and the laser was a wash since the officer was probably aiming at the Redline (on the drivers side) first. The Redline is significantly better than my 9500iX though. Again, I can't comment on IO Ka hits since I haven't had any yet.
Anyone with enough experience to tell which detector falses less?

In two days of testing , the V-1 never shuts the F up. The Redline has been relatively quiet BUT that can be a bad thing too??? MY iX is "too quiet."
