Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
I get ReVeal's point that more videos and reviews are needed before we know for sure which detector is better at constant on. He just came off wrong in an attacking sort of mode.
Many people, myself included, are very disappointed the Redline (apparently) does not blow the V1 away nor does it fix Escort's Q/T and slow response to I/O problem.
Escort hyped the product and got everyone's hopes up ... see the spoiler in my sig for some of their own hype ... so they created a lot of these so called "attacks" themselves.
There is nothing I'd like more than a window mount Escort that beats the V1 in range and is fast.

Your trolling Dude.
Lets start with my username. I joined on 10-25-2008 to order a color display from reb. I didn't plan on posting much. I believe in March 09 the mods instituted a post count policy to view different things on the forum. So, I started posting. I have been ever since. Yes, I wish I had registered with a different less biased username.
Now for why I own a v1. I had a whistler and was disappointed with the distance on 35.5 and problem with the laser sensor. I returned it and bought the v1 at the recommendation of a friend. Most of my encounters are I/O Ka and some QT. No laser and very few RLC. I think this particular detector suits my needs best considering the circumstances named above. I have recommended Belscorts for a few friends and family who were on a budget. I would love to have a 9500ci or redline someday but can't justify the price for the things you get. EX. Stealth or "shifters"
Rule #5 says keep the conversation constructive. When threads go South like this one, I like to change the topic and try to end the spitting contest. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I guess this can be considered breaking rule #6 so I'll try stop doing that. This is a place to help each other not argue.
Lastly, I do think the redline will beat the v1 in situations where the 9500ci would. Like reveal said only more videos and testing will show that. :)
Sorry for the rant.

^ Thats much better..........now I'm learning again. I think alot of threads appear to take a left turn but it's inevitable sometimes when different viewpoints are expressed.
ReVeal's critique of the tests run here were perhaps overly suspicious and I think both parties were working together to calm him down. In fact, I saw a unique oppurtunity to agree with Jazzy on a few good points he made. :D
And now, Thanks to the information you supplied in this post, I find that I can agree with you..........need more videos!

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
Thanks for your efforts guys. Interesting results, I'm just glad I decided to keep my STi and send it in for a "Tune Up" and ramp up fix.
I'm in Germany right now, and I have a date with an Audi A6 and the Autobahn.

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
ReVeal,
Do you, at this very moment, even own an rd? How many and what kind? Here is an idea buy a Redline,V1 and a video camera and post some vids. SORRY <<JAZZY>> you already made that suggestion.

Wow...I think this forum is one of the tamest out there. To be suggesting BAN or LOCKING the thread for the small amount of controversy or way the poster presented his views kinda reminds me of a bunch of old geezers in south Florida who act as the "condo commando's" and attempt to get all of the residents forming a single line to march in lockstep to their rules. Even though I'm a newbie on this forum and now a die hard V1 user, (but NOT new to forums and warfare and flame wars)I find his posts to be refreshing and bring up some good points.
The Redline is still too new and hasn't been tested by enough people in the real world, with the bottom line being SAVES vs. TICKETS. More test videos would be sweet also.
(had to delete picture of combination lock because of post count)

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
I first like to say this
I meant no disrespect in hurting anyone feelings on this forum.
The reason that I made a different name. Is base on my previous
post a Moderator have to read what I type.
So it is not being revealed.
All I have done is told the truth, and ask for both Detectors to be
viewed fairly. That is all it really is
I don't feel it is fair or right that anyone can make comments to me in such a way.
Yet, I'm not allowed to answer.
Offshore: I feel I am in the right thread. I don't feel I need to go to a
Escort forum. The title of this thread is
Radar Detector Jammer Forum » Radar Detector Forums » Escort » REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO
Escort and Redline are both in the title.
Offshore you ask why I'm even here at all.
To help keep it honest and fair.
Jazzy: You made a long comment talking about 8500 and 9500 Detectors.
Those detectors are not my concern. I only concern about results from
Redline vs V1.
TS: I made comment answering you but unsure if the moderator will let it be revealed in this room. I did not mean that in a angry or negative way, I mean that sincerely.
Whom I will like to give thanks to is Obsidian. They have stated completely basically what I was trying to say all along. If anyone do not understand anything I typed. That is exactly what I mean. Please read what they type, I am grateful and thankful for there wrote up.
Also respects to you nine C1, I agree with a lot what you said.
Monte1: I think you are cool, I'm thinking the exact same thing right now and do not understand. All I'm asking for is more proof and videos, not just going by one video. Then when it is produce everyone praising it like it is God blessing to the world. Forgive me if that last line hurt anyone emotions that is not my intention.
I only wish for Redline to get a fair assessment vs V1. Then if V1 is better after then, that is fair.
Appreciate hearing what you Monte1, nine C1, and Obsidian for your words.
Honestly, I am grateful that the video is produce.
Honestly, I am grateful that AirMoore brought it to the forum.
I just don't want this video to become to sole base of why everyone shouldn't buy a Redline. Blessings to you AirMoore,
I mean not disrespect to you in saying this and I am glad you did took your time to bring this video to the forefront. I mean that sincerely.
KaPro
Yes: I can understand your point in asking that KaPro.
Maybe I will do that and start something along with it.
Then cooperate with you back and forth. I have no problem
doing that. I have a decent speed car and drive
90MPH while doing it, calling it the 90MPH+ TEST with
ReVeaL& KaPro. I have no problem doing this, but
I do admit I will need help once I receive both detectors on
how to do it correctly. I have no problem giving you credit as
well in all the videos since you gave me the idea, now that is fair.
I didn't really get that from Jazzy but if Jazzy said they will be added to.
Thank you sincerely
Also, Blessing to Radar Roy
You are a very good person and that is not coming from just a average jo.
Many people of my community and my profession I tell to check your reviews.
I'm just not going to appreciate anyone not valuing your opinion on this forums.
By saying: Radar Roy has his juice.
Radar Roy does not have a reason to back V1, etc etc.
(I don't like that)
Thank you both Radar Roy and SpeedTrapHunter & to all the others I name.
Thanks

If you can't figure out how to post, that's not our problem. But nobody is moderating you. No, make that 'nobody WAS moderating you'.
One name per member.

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
^ Hopefully it's a short stay in the Pokey. His last post was back on the road to enlightenment.
I've had that same thing pop on me once or twice about moderator review. Perhaps it's a glitch when your below a certain post count?

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
I can't figure out why he keeps making new names when there's nothing wrong with his original one. But if he keeps it up, we can ban that one too.

I agree - the RedLine is still too new, there simply hasn't been enough sampling/population to truly come to any conclusion.
However, these initial peeks do present as ammo for the Zombies, and do, also, disappoint (tremendously) us Escort users who had sincerely hoped for more, from this new and very, very hyped offering.
Regardless of how things turn out....
Monte1, I agree completely with you - that it's the real-world "saves" that's going to count, to each and every end-user.
But there's a problem in that.
The problem is that the real-world is full of variables, and that each encounter is unique.
This also means that, under real-world conditions, *any* detector can have a really good day - or a really bad one.
Yes, this can happen during testing, too - but the only way to truly see what the capabilities and limitations are of each detector is to expose them to these artificial testing conditions, however imperfect they may be (be it small sample number [production variability], debated setups/settings, etc.).
It's the only way to quantitate.
There's no way to guaranty that a "save" is truly a save - there's no way to account for the enforcer having perhaps set a higher personal enforcement limit than even the speed at which you were traveling. There's no way to say that he or she doesn't just, for whatever reason, like your car, even. :)
Only true quantitative testing can control the engagement scenario enough so as to allow us to visualize any weaknesses.

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
No problem whatsoever Stealth Stalker
&
God Bless your for being some what understanding and immpecable.
I just tried to log on to this one and it said ban.
Then I wanted to make sure I sent you a important message, or at least
heard me out in which you have.
Now I know you can't make multiple names on this forum it will
never happen again.
God Bless you & your Profession
I have high respect for that for personal reasons.
I honestly think you have done a excellent job here and thank you.
I mean that sincerely.
No matter I will trust Radar Roy words since 2004 & SpeedTrapHunter.
The work they have done is the reason why I respect them now.
Thank you I appreciate the current words spoken on this forum board concerning
further testing.

Maybe yes...and maybe no regarding the quantitative testing and engagement scenarios.
As strong as the V1 always comes out on top for most of these tests, all I can tell you is that within the last month I had 3 real life scenarios with my V1 where I just flat out got LUCKY. In one scenario I was out of state in a string of cars that were ALL going over 80 mph in a 70 zone around a corner and an Alabama LEO was about 60 yds. deep in an opening behind trees that blocked the curve and the V! went off at the last second around the curve. If I was the only car, it would have been OVER. What detector wins that battle? Was it Q/T, I/O or the trees blocking it? I don't know.
The other cases were similar with the string of cars and no chase cars to pull everyone over. I'm actually starting to wonder about the V1 on KA at times.
Yesterday I had a K band incident where the V1 was alerting soooo far in advance I was thinking that it had to be a false, but luckily didn't ignore it as such.
Lo and behold if it wasn't a local LEO sitting right in the middle of the road hitting cars with C/O coming in the opposite direction at a time of day and place where there was NEVER one before. Who wins that battle in real life? I'd guess a TIE,

Re: REDLINE, V1, X50, STi Testing VIDEO.
^ And that's exactly what I mean. :)
"Testing" cannot truly be done in the "real-world" sense.
'
"Saves" or "losses" in the real-world are both true multifactorial considerations - simple luck does factor into the equation and is, oftentimes, the sole determinant of outcome.
Quantitative (as quantitative as we can get :o) testing allows us to control the situation, to truly dissect the strong and weak points of each detector. This is vital to tell us what the detector's true capabilities are, and where potentially hidden shortcomings (i.e. which are only rarely seen in the real-world, or may be effectively "buried" due to other real-world engagement constraints and/or variables) may exist.
But it does not necessarily tell us how well the detector may perform in the real-world.
It's important for everyone to understand this separation.

Thanks for the videos and all the hard work you guys did.
